The April meeting of the Lewis County Genealogical Society will be held next Tuesday, April 21st at the Chehalis FamilySearch Center located at 2195 Jackson Hwy. The free one-on-one Help Session starts at 12:30pm and the business meeting followed by a presentation at 1:30pm. This will be a hybrid meeting. Contact WA.LCGS@hotmail.com for Zoom link.

Our topic for discussion will be “Scoundrels in the Family” and no doubt, will be an entertaining event! Bring your juiciest stories, photos if you have some, and share.

The public is welcome and encouraged to join us. Let’s climb our family tree together!

The German Interest Group will meet IN PERSON this WEDNESDAY, April 1, 10AM to Noon at the FamilySearch Center at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2195 Jackson Hwy, Chehalis, WA 98532. https://maps.app.goo.gl/yDLXcMKEMnzVznjS7
We focus on German research and how to find records for your German speaking ancestors, where ever in the World they resided. We use the Family Search catalog and other other sites and resources, stressing the importance of location and knowing your ancestors' home town.
All skill levels are welcome. We are here to help and we all learn from one another. Anyone with an interest in German genealogy is WELCOME. Membership is not required.
The meeting officially ends at noon, but on occasion stay later and the center is staffed by volunteers until 8:00PM on Wednesdays.
If you are new to this facility, the FamilySearch Center is at the back of the building, handicap access is at the east side of the building (left side of photo). Ring the doorbell and someone will come to let you in.

Our Tips & Talk Special Interest Group meets on ZOOM the 4th Friday of every month from 10AM to Noon.
Anyone with an interest in Genealogical Research, is welcome to attend. Membership is not necessary. All levels of experience, beginner to advanced are welcome. We are here to help, teach and learn from one another.
Our monthly sessions are designed to help members and guests get together to discuss Genealogy topics, share experiences, problems and successes. This is a great way to get to know other people with an interest in genealogy. We work through problems together and our sessions work well because everyone has their own perspective that they can add to the discussion.

Our next general meeting will be this Tuesday, March 17, in-person and on Zoom, at the Chehalis FamilySearch Center, 2195 Jackson Hwy. FREE members' Help Session begins at 12:30 pm; Zoom opens at 1:00 pm; Short Business meeting at 1:30 pm, followed by our in-person guest speaker!

Crystal Hicks, from the Washington State Library, will present "Hidden in Plain Sight: Using Historic Washington Newspapers for Genealogy". Crystal will focus on all of the various newspaper collections, both digital and microfilm.

SPECIAL NOTICE: Tuesday’s meeting will be held on **Zoom only**, due to expected weather conditions. The February meeting of the Lewis County Genealogical Society will be held Tuesday, February 17th. Zoom will open at 1:00 pm, the business meeting at 1:30 pm, and will be followed by a presentation. LCGS members can find the Zoom link on their calendar, guests may contact WA.LCGS@hotmail.com for Zoom link.

Our topic of interest will be "Making a Window in Your Brick Wall." This will be a Roundtable meeting so we are asking that you bring a question that you most want to solve. We will review some steps that may help you find your answer.
