As the Open Enrollment Period for Medicare is upon us, there have been some questions about plans being offered that state they don't cover chiropractic care. This article gives some clarification on this issue. These plans are required, by law, to cover what traditional Medicare covers which includes chiropractic care.

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) plans are required by federal law to provide at least the same benefits as Original Medicare Part A and Part B. This requirement is established under Section 1852(a)(1)(A) of the Social Security Act and further outlined in 42 CFR § 422.101, which mandates that M...

Posture Tips to Prevent “Tech Neck”

Posture Matters: How to Protect Yourself from Tech Neck

In today’s digital age, most of us spend hours looking down at phones, tablets, or computers. While technology makes life easier, it can also take a toll on our bodies—especially our neck and spine. This common issue is often called “tech neck.”

What is Tech Neck?

Tech neck refers to the strain and discomfort caused by spending too much time with your head bent forward and shoulders rounded while using devices. Over time, this posture can lead to:
• Neck and shoulder pain
• Headaches
• Reduced mobility
• Poor posture habits

Simple Posture Tips for Everyday Life

The good news is there are simple ways to improve your posture and reduce the risk of tech neck:
• Bring devices up to eye level – Instead of bending your head down, raise your phone or adjust your computer monitor so it’s at eye height.
• Take breaks often – Every 20–30 minutes, stand up, stretch, and reset your posture.
• Strengthen core and back muscles – Strong muscles support proper alignment and reduce strain on the neck.
• Practice chin tucks – Gently pull your chin back (like making a double chin) to align your head over your shoulders.
• Check your workspace ergonomics – Make sure your chair, desk, and monitor encourage upright posture.

Chiropractic Care Can Help

If you’re already feeling the effects of tech neck, chiropractic care can help relieve tension, improve mobility, and restore healthy alignment. Prevention is best, but early care is key to avoiding long-term issues.

Chiropractors are here to support your posture and spine health—so you can stay active, comfortable, and at your best.

If you are experiencing problems like this, give us a call at 734-475-2932 and let us help you get on the road to recovery.

Do you ever catch yourself hunched over your phone or laptop? If so, you’re not alone—most people spend hours every day looking down at screens. This forward head posture, often called “tech neck,” can lead to stiffness, discomfort, and long-term spine issues if left unaddressed.

Here are a few quick tips to help protect your posture:
• Hold devices at eye level instead of bending your neck.
• Take short breaks every 20–30 minutes to stretch and reset.
• Strengthen your back and core muscles for better support.
• Practice “chin tucks” to keep your head aligned over your shoulders.

Chiropractic care can also help relieve the effects of tech neck, improve mobility, and keep your spine in healthy alignment.

If you’re noticing neck or shoulder tension, don’t wait until it gets worse—schedule an appointment with us today. Your spine (and posture!) will thank you.
