Sensory processing is the process in which our nervous system receives, interprets, and responds to sensory information from the environment. It involves the senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell, movement, and body awareness. When sensory information is processed effectively, it allows us to interact with the world in a meaningful and appropriate way.

The key aspects of sensory processing include:
-Reception: receiving sensory input
-Integration: organizing and interpreting sensory information in the brain
-Response: Generating appropriate motor and behavioral responses to the sensory input

Some individuals experience difficulty processing sensory input. This is where occupational therapy can help!
