Dads, this one’s for us.
With the world in constant motion—families torn apart by mass deportations, our LGBTQ loved ones fighting simply to exist, and living in a world surround by turmoil —it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The weight of it all can quietly chip away at our mental health, even as we shoulder the role of guide, protector, and example for our kids.
So today, on Father’s Day, I want to honor every dad who keeps showing up:
• The dad comforting anxious kids while hiding his own worries.
• The dad standing up for friends whose rights are under attack.
• The dad holding his family together across borders and time zones.
Your effort matters. Your presence matters. And your mental health matters just as much as the people you care for.
Take a breath. Reach out. Talk to a friend, a counselor, or a brother who gets it. We can’t pour from an empty cup, and our kids learn resilience by watching us practice it.
Happy Father’s Day! Let’s keep lifting each other up and strengthening our communities, as now more than ever we all need to lean on each other💙
