It's college graduation season!

We are incredibly excited to tell the world about our brand new LLMSW Clinical "New Therapist In Training" LLMSW Program!

The first cohort is starting this summer! This program is designed for those who wish to enter the direct clinical treatment field right away after graduation, with the support of LMSW supervision, group supervision, case consultation, consideration of ethics and professional goal mapping.

The program aims to meet every goal set by the NASW and the ASWB to prepare for the licensing exam, IN ADDITION to providing the required clinical reflective supervision, clinical hours, training and education to create the well-rounded, diversified therapists we need to meet the needs of our world today, and in the future.

LLMSW Clinicians receive a much healthier contractual fee split than industry standards. To receive more information please see link or contact Katrina directly at Kmilliken@gracebehavioralmi.com.

From an attachment lens, this is the essence of co-regulation:
one regulated (or regulating) nervous system lending stability to another.
Not rescuing.
Not minimizing.
Just being the calm shoreline while the waves move through.

💚 Today is World Mental Health Day, first initiated in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health to raise awareness and support for mental well-being across the globe.

Dr. Maya Angelou often wrote about healing and the strength we find within and alongside others. In her poem “Alone,” she reminds us:

✨ “Lying, thinking / Last night / How to find my soul a home / Where water is not thirsty / And bread loaf is not stone / I came up with one thing / And I don’t believe I’m wrong / That nobody / But nobody / Can make it out here alone.”

Her words encourage us to remember that caring for our mental health is not something we must do in isolation. Reaching out, leaning on community, and offering compassion to ourselves and others are all acts of strength.

Today, and every day, let us choose connection, kindness, and hope.

We have a culture of not being allowed to have needs, and it’s detrimental to all of us

We have a culture of not being allowed to have needs, and it’s detrimental to all of us

You can’t train a child not to have needs.
You can only teach them not to show them.
Not to speak them.
Not to trust that their needs matter.

But those needs don’t go away — they just get buried.
And what gets buried doesn’t vanish.
It festers.

It shows up later — in anxiety, people-pleasing, overachieving, or shutting down.

When we respond to a child’s need with dismissal, frustration, or control —
We don’t make them stronger.
We just make them quieter.

And being quiet isn’t the same as being okay.

So the goal isn’t to raise children who stop needing. It’s to become parents who stop fearing their needs…

Because that’s how we raise children who know they’re worthy of being heard. ❤️
