This week we’re connecting with the Sacral Chakra—the energy of creativity, pleasure, and how we relate to others. When this energy is balanced, we move with ease and joy, and our connections expand outward.

The mantra Lokāḥ Samastāḥ Sukhino Bhavantu translates to “May all beings everywhere be happy and free.” It’s a natural extension of sacral energy—moving from personal joy into shared wellbeing.

On your mat, let movement, breath, and awareness awaken that sense of connection within you, and carry it outward as a wish for happiness and freedom for all beings.

This week we’re focusing on the Root Chakra, located at the base of the spine.
This chakra is connected to stability, grounding, and feeling safe.

💫Imbalance signs: Anxiety, fear, restlessness

💫How to balance: Spend time in nature, grounding breathwork, affirmations of safety and stability, healthy routines

✨ Let’s talk chakras ✨

The chakras are often described as energy centers in the body—each connected to different aspects of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. When balanced, they help us feel grounded, open, and aligned.

There are 7 main chakras, starting at the base of the spine and moving upward:

🔴 Root – safety & grounding
🟠 Sacral – creativity & pleasure
🟡 Solar Plexus – confidence & power
💚 Heart – love & compassion
🔵 Throat – communication & truth
🟣 Third Eye – intuition & clarity
⚪ Crown – spiritual connection

Yoga, breathwork, and meditation can help balance these centers and keep energy flowing.

🌈 Inspired by Janine, who will be focusing on each chakra in her Vinyasa classes over the next 7 weeks, we’ll begin our own journey here starting tomorrow, Monday, September 8th. Each week we’ll highlight one chakra—what it represents, how to notice imbalance, and ways to bring harmony through breath, movement, and awareness.

In the midst of this chakra journey, we’re also offering a Chakra Balancing Sound Bath Meditation with Rob Meyer-Kukan on Friday, September 19th—an opportunity to immerse yourself in sound and vibration for deeper alignment and renewal.
