Chelsea friends, although the Global Marketplace no longer has a Brick & Mortar Fair Trade store in Chelsea. The City of Chelsea did officially vote to become Michigan's FIRST Fair Trade Town! That is quite an important feather in our cap and represents Chelsea values.

Please vote for your favorite businesses to include in the newest version of Cheleaopoly AND, if so inclined, in the 'other' link at the bottom ask to have 'Chelsea, Michigan's First Fair Trade Town' added to this edition of this game.

FYI - Since the Global Marketplace has CLOSED, FAITH IN ACTION CHELSEA is where you can go to get your Interfaith Council on Peace and Justice Yard Signs and Rainbow Flags. At this point, they all have been paid for AND you can pay it forward by donating a bag of groceries/toiletries to the worthwhile organization.

We started selling Fair Trade twenty years ago in our local Church, we formed a nonprofit and opened a store, we transitioned to a sole proprietorship, moved numerous times, and yet our memories are of our wonderful customers and this community. Sad that the 'What's your Why' flags went away today. We'll miss them. Thankful for the school/students and teachers who allowed us to walk beneath their beautiful messages.
