Today, we highlight one of our very own Jefferson County Public Health Nurses and Family Connects Home Visitor, Jessica George.

Jessica is one of four nurses in Central Oregon working with Family Connects, a program available in 12 Oregon counties that supports new parents and parents who have lost a child at birth. The program is available free to all new families regardless of income.

Jessica typically spends an hour or more on home visits examining and weighing new babies, and checking the physical and mental health of a new mom. During a recent home visit with Chelsea Mendoza and her 3 month-old baby girl, Lucia, Jessica answered questions and provided some reassuring support.
