We believe that the highest calling of any doctor's office is to work with patients (and the community), and inspire everyone to live a life which actually PREVENTS the conditions that are being addressed in the office. Doctors of Dentistry, for example, work tirelessly, teaching entire families how to brush and floss, thus raising up everyone's awareness of “oral hygiene.”

rpose, over many years, has been to educate and serve as many families as possible, empowering them to achieve Life Span Family Wellness through natural Chiropractic care. Our continual focus on Wellness (rather than only the treatment of conditions), has allowed us to partner with an incredibly innovative Medical Doctor, Wayne Scott Andersen. After graduating first in his class in Medical School, he practiced as only the 10th Board Certified Physician in Critical Care, and served as the Chief of entire hospital divisions. He realized, as we have, that if people could somehow be Empowered (rather than passively receive treatment) to learn the Habits of Health, they could actually Live a Longer Healthier Life. Many of the core components of this Habits of Health Health Coaching System have been extensively researched by prestigious organizations, such as the NIH and Johns Hopkins University, and have been recommended by over 20,000 doctors (of all specialties) since 1980. The complete program includes monthly workshops, weekly live & recorded national conference calls, and access to a 24/7 interactive coaching website. A participant in this program can freely choose to engage in any one - or all - of these components. Our Health Coaching process is available to our patients, and the whole community, absolutely free of charge. HEALTHY TIPS FOR THE WIN!

1. Call the host to find out what foods they will be having and volunteer to bring an appetizer or meal side dish. See below for some great recipe ideas!
2. Remember that alcohol is loaded with calories and it's an appetite stimulant. Alcohol will also let down your defenses and you will be more apt to fall for temptations.
3. Choose club soda or a flavored water to stay on track with achieving your health goals.
4. Don’t change your exercise routine the day of the party.
5. Make the occasion a social event and focus on your friends and fun. Nudge your friends, family and neighbors to get healthier by making a wager and use exercise as the payment of choice. If your team wins, the other team’s fans have to do a push up for every point your team scored.
6. When the party is at your house, use low calorie and fat free salad dressings for dips. Have plenty of healthy snacks for you such as almonds, celery stalks and other fresh cut veggies.
7. Make a decision about what you are going to eat before you go. Have a written plan or you will fall into the plans of other people.
8. Make a decision about what you will say to those who try to push fattening food on you. Be ready to respond. If someone asks "Are you on a diet?" say "No, I'm just trying to make healthier choices."
9. Have a healthy meal, snack or fueling before you go to curb your appetite.
10. Get up during half time and walk outside (weather permitting) or do some stretching.
11. Stand away from the food table and engage in conversation. Use a small plate to put your healthy food items on, and then walk away.
12. Bring your own healthy snack (a shake or bar) with you in case there are not good food choices at the party, especially if you will be there for 3 hours.
13. Help serve and clean up. Keep busy and burn a few extra calories in the process.

In 1998, he completed a Fellowship in Chiropractic Pediatrics, and in 2008, he became a COPE Certified Health Coach through Villanova University-College of Nursing. As the author of two books, You Are Not Your Diagnosis and Willpower vs. The Power of Willingness, he has led thousands of interactive workshops and Key Note presentations all over the country, speaking to audiences as intimate as 10, and as large as 1000.
