🏈 Add them to the roster! Super Bowl Sunday calls for championship-level physical & occupational therapy! 🏆

Emily Snyder, PT, DPT and Lanie Brisben, MS, OTR/L are putting patients through football-themed balance, coordination, footwork, strength drills and even some passing practice to train like all-stars! ⭐️

These moves aren’t just for athletes! Throwing the ball and mastering agility ladder work builds leg strength, boosts cardio endurance, enhances balance and coordination, and helps with confidence and fall prevention.

Game on! 🙌🔥

Two therapists. One home. One very real moment!

An OT + PT co-treat doesn’t erase fear, hesitation, or the emotions that surface when a task feels risky — especially something as vulnerable as a simulated shower transfer. Even with two clinicians present, the fear of falling and fear of failure can still show up. And that’s okay.

At FOX, interdisciplinary collaboration isn’t just encouraged — it’s supported and flexible when medically necessary. Having the ability to schedule OT + PT co-treatments in the home allows us to meet patients exactly where they are, at the moment it matters most. That flexibility makes a real, measurable impact on safety, confidence, and outcomes.

This session took just over two hours, with nearly one full hour dedicated to breaking down this single activity — layering education, functional mobility, ADLs, and fall-prevention strategies every step of the way.

Progress isn’t rushed. Safety isn’t assumed. Confidence is built — slowly, intentionally, and together.

This is what FOX in the home really looks like! 🧡

Thank you and .kerch for sharing a glimpse into a co-treat session!

For years, my patient was hesitant to try adaptive tools to support her ADLs because of her tremor. After talking through the benefits of weighted items, we decided together to trial a few options! 🍽️

Weighted, built-up utensils can make a big difference for individuals with tremors who have difficulty feeding themselves — improving control, independence, and confidence at mealtime! 💪

Excited to start incorporating these into her daily routine and see her progress! 🧡

As we age, we naturally lose Type II muscle fibers—the ones responsible for power, quick reactions, and catching ourselves when we trip. That loss can increase fall risk and make everyday movements feel slower and harder.

That’s where power training comes in. In geriatric physical therapy, power-focused exercises target those fast fibers to help older adults move quicker, stay steadier, and maintain independence! 💪

Today, we’re sharing Jack, 82, working through these exercises with guidance from his PT, , PT, DPT! 💥

It’s easy to progress a plan by adding weight or reps—but sometimes the missing piece is speed + intent. Challenging patients with power may be exactly what they need to keep progressing toward their goals! 🦊
