ATTENTION MARRIED BLACK CHRISTIAN WOMEN:

Our founder and executive director, Shonda R. Brooks is conducting research as part of the requirements for a Doctor of Education degree at Liberty University. The purpose of her research is to explore how married Black Christian women understand and experience s*xual intimacy within marriage after being taught to abstain from s*x before marriage but receiving little to no guidance afterward.

To participate, you must be between 30 and 60 years of age, assigned female at birth, currently living as a woman, and married to a man assigned male at birth, be a member of one of the Black ethnic groups, have been married for at least 5 years or more, identify as a Christian from one of the Protestant denominations (excluding Catholic, Jehovah’s Witness, Mormon, Latter-day Saints, and Seventh-day Adventist denominations), and have had exposure to abstinence-focused teachings prior to marriage without corresponding post-marital s*xual education.

Participants will be interviewed in an audio-recorded virtual interview (60-90 mins), review interview transcripts with the researcher for accuracy (30-45 mins), participate in an optional virtual focus group (90 mins), and optional focus group transcript review (20-30 minutes).

If you are interested and eligible, and you agree to participate, please direct message us for more information. If selected, a consent form will be emailed to you one week before the interview, and you will need to sign the form and return it at least three (3) days prior to the interview.

🌿 Take Every Thought Captive: Faith-Based Coping for Anxiety🌿

Negative thoughts can feel overwhelming, but 2 Corinthians 10:5 reminds us to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

💙 Healthy Coping Skill: When anxiety strikes, write down your worries and then counter them with scripture. If you think, "I am not enough," replace it with "I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14).

God calls us to renew our minds—let His truth be louder than fear! 🙏✨
