See the headlines. Do your research on PBMs, and the big chain pharmacies. Please support our local independent pharmacies. If changes do not occur, our family-owned, community-minded pharmacies will vanish. The is hugely important.

The biggest pharmacy benefit managers are profiting by systematically underpaying independent drugstores, creating “pharmacy deserts” across the country.

Are you being fooled when it comes to your healthcare?

It’s not meant to be an insulting question. Healthcare (actually “disease care”) in our country is for the most part confusing and frustrating. It’s not designed to make sense. Big bills despite “good insurance.” Can’t get in touch with your doctor. Thinking you are going to see your doctor, and then you see someone else. And when you get to see someone, the visit is rushed and hurried.

Then there are some on the fringes of healthcare who promise happiness, wellness, etc. as long as you purchase expensive tests, supplements, and treatments.

Some of the reasons we have patients join our practice:

- “I want to see an actual physician/doctor!”
- “I want to see the SAME physician/doctor every time!”
- “I can’t get into my previous doctor’s office for weeks.”
- “Whenever I do call, I have to sit on hold. And the person answering is not even in the office.”
- “My deductible is so high that I end up paying for visits/appointments anyways.”
- “I don’t have any insurance coverage, but I need access to a physician.”
- “I have a business and want to provide membership to your practice as a benefit to my employees.”

You may be aware that our Cherryville office is located in what was once the Lester Theatre on Main Street. Thanks to 2 very good friends and patients, the actual original marquee letters were discovered and given to us. And thanks to the brilliant 3D printing shop now open in Cherryville, one block from our office, we were able to fill in the missing letters. We think this is so cool!
