Each month, residents will enjoy the Port of Call program. This program focuses on creating activities for the residents to learn about different countries, cities, or locations. This month, the theme is the Antarctic Peninsula! 🐧

The Antarctic Peninsula is an ice-covered, mountainous peninsula that rests alongside Marguerite Bay and Bransfield Strait. The wildlife on the Antarctic Peninsula is amazingly diverse, with researchers finding so many variations of the same species. For example, there are 18 different types of emperor penguins that live amongst the wildlife of Antarctica.

Please help me welcome Mrs. Alberta W. Curtis Minters, a retired art teacher from Chesapeake Public Schools. Alberta has balanced her passion for education with a lifelong commitment to faith and music, formerly serving as a church organist. In 1980, she started publishing a monthly news magazine called Gram of Faith, where she focuses on publishing articles that are positive and sharing words of inspiration.

She is an active member of First Baptist Church Berkley in Norfolk, Virginia, serving under the leadership of Pastor W.D. Tyree III. Alberta continues to use her talents to spread encouragement by volunteering here at Oak Grove, believing that every individual has unique gifts to share with the world. Stop by and take a listen to the heavenly sound of music.
