Overdose Awareness Month is not a specific designated month but International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is observed annually on August 31st. It is the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief of families and friends, and stimulate action and discussion about evidence-based overdose prevention and drug policy.
