Nervous about Cold Plunging? 🥶

That’s NORMAL! In fact, I’d be concerned if you weren’t! That’s all a part of the magic ✨

Our brain is constantly predicting and protecting. It can be loud and exhausting, and keep us from moving forward in life. We, here at Hale House, call it your, “monkey mind,” but scientifically speaking, it’s your amygdala.

That “monkey mind” is what’s causing the nerves or anxiety surrounding cold plunging because it’s responsible for our survival instincts and emotional responses.

It knows that the cold water will activate “fight-or-flight,” and it’s simply trying to protect you from that seemingly life-threatening scenario by creating fear or anxiety around it.

However, we KNOW, through our prefrontal cortex or our “executive center,” that our life isn’t at risk at all, and that the benefits of cold exposure far outweigh the temporary discomfort.

We feel the fear and do it anyway!

Cold plunging helps teach you how to silence that monkey mind and allow your executive center to take the lead.

Welcome to brain training! By taking control of your mind, you take control of your life.

Deliberate cold water exposure therapy is a very safe and effective way to train the brain resulting in less fear and more confidence.
