✅Tuesday Tip: Backup glasses = non-negotiable 👓

If you wear contact lenses, you should always have a current pair of glasses on hand.

Think of them as your Plan B for real life:
• dry, irritated eyes
• allergy flare-ups
• a scratched/dirty lens day
• travel mishaps
• getting sick (yes—pink eye, a cold, even the flu)

The biggest mistake we see? People push through discomfort because they don’t have another option—and that’s when small irritation can turn into a bigger problem.

If your glasses prescription is outdated, or you don’t have a reliable pair, let’s fix that. Come visit our optical to check out the latest styles and technology. Your eyes will thank you.

⚠Eyelash serums can be a mixed bag—especially if you’re prone to dry eye, blepharitis, or meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

Although we realize the aesthetics of long eyelashes are tempting, we generally discourage the use of eyelash serums! There are some "cleaner" formulations available on the market and we continue to diligently do our own research so we can personally attest to them! 🙌

Traditional eyelash growth serums are effective at achieving thicker and longer lashes... but please know, they are at the expense of the future of your glands, your tears and your overall eye health!

If your eyes have been feeling worse since starting a lash serum, don’t guess—give us a call and let’s check your lids and tear film.

Makeup order matters with contacts!!👁

Core rule:
✅ Contacts IN before makeup
✅ Contacts OUT before removing makeup

Why?
👉Less gunk on the lens. Foundation, powders, mascara fibers, glitter, and setting spray can land on the lens or sneak under it → blur, gritty feeling, and dryness.
👉Reduces irritation + allergy flares. Makeup residue around the lid margin can worsen blepharitis/MGD and make contacts feel uncomfortable faster.
👉Prevents accidental contamination. If you put lenses in after makeup, you’re more likely to transfer oils, sunscreen, or remover residue onto the lens with your fingers.

Small habit—big comfort difference.

February is AMD Awareness Month 👁️🟡

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) affects the macula — the part of your retina responsible for sharp, central vision (reading, driving, recognizing faces). Many people don’t notice early changes at first, which is why routine eye exams matter.

All month long, we’ll be sharing:
✅ early warning signs to watch for
✅ who’s most at risk
✅ how we screen for AMD
✅ lifestyle + nutrition tips that support retinal health
✅ what treatment options look like if AMD is found

If you’re 50+, have a family history, or simply haven’t had a dilated eye exam recently, this is your reminder to get checked.

So if you have an appointment on Monday, please keep an eye on your phone — and check our social pages for the latest.

Stay warm, stay safe, and let’s all behave… unlike the forecast. 😄❄️

If your child’s prescription seems to change every year, you’re not alone — and you have options. 👓✨

They are finally here and available to you. Stellest® lenses are myopia-management glasses designed to help slow nearsightedness progression while your child sees clearly for everyday life.

Start with a Myopia Management Evaluation so we can determine candidacy and build the right plan.

✨ Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to help:

✅Calm inflammation on the eyelids and ocular surface
✅Support healthier gland function (better tear “oil layer”)
✅Improve comfort over time as part of a customized dry eye plan

Most patients describe it as relaxing—like a warm, soothing light session.

If you’re tired of relying on drops alone, we can help you figure out why your eyes are dry and what treatments match your specific type of dry eye.
