Another AMAZING fact about breastfeeding: colostrum, which is what your baby gets for a few days before your milk comes in, is tailored to your specific baby! A recent study found that the levels of protein, carbs, and fat vary, depending on whether baby is born small, appropriote, or large for gestational age. Formula certainly can’t do that! Yay breastmilk!!!❤️

Diabetes….women who have gestational diabetes during pregnancy have a greater chance of developing type 2 diabetes later in life, and some studies show a ten times greater chance of developing it! But guess what-if you nurse that baby, you lower your chances of ever developing diabetes and the longer you nurse, the less chance you’ll have of developing it.

Just heard this: breastfeeding your body remodel the pancreas and helps prevent pancreatic cancer!!!! My own mother died of pancreatic cancer. I wonder if she had breastfed her 2 children if she might not have died from that…..and the longer you nurse, the more your body provides you this protection. Amazing stuff!
