"Bloom of the day," is Irene, such a vibrant, fun personality to be around. She worked as a licensed nurse for 30 years in local hospitals. She has three daughters, whom she adores. She has seen Lil Richie and Stevie Wonder in concert. Activities make her happy, and being around people. We did a "Memory Garden," what better time to make it happen then National Nursing Home Week. A place of peace, reflection, and remembrance.

Today we celebrated National Nursing Home week with Kona Ice for everyone to enjoy. Nice way to cool down from the Summer heat. Then, everyone enjoyed our Bloom Match Bash, matching flowers, making memories, and winning surprises along the way. Great day to have fun with CHRC family.

"Bloom of the day," meet Roger. He has played in a musical called Shenandoah. His mom and Dad were both very musical. That is where he got his talent. He loves to sing, play the organ, and enjoys show business. He is well-traveled and enjoyed traveling the states as well as European Countries. He has one daughter and owned a barber shop for many years. He has met Katharine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. Roger has a real gift for music, his voice is magic. Please give him some likes. "Bloom of the day," is Bobby. A Veteran in the Army and native to Chesapeake. He was a student athlete at Indian River High School, playing basketball and football. He has a son and a daughter. He also worked for Ford Motor Company for 15 years. He is happiest when he wakes up to a new day. He is very active in the Recreation program. He loves parties, axe throwing, hoops, shuffleboard, American Gladiators, and anything competitive. He is also a master trash talker and loves the ladies. Please thank him for his service.

"Bloom of the day," is Jean, who is a big part of CHRC. She is 97 and loves to be happy and be around people. She raised cats, dogs, birds, ducks, goldfish, ponies, and loved riding horses. Her favorite job was working in New York as a nurse in the hospital with TB patients. She got married at 30 and has two daughters. At CHRC, she loves casino games, bocce bag and of course winning.
She is always down for a good time! Take a minute and say hello.

Yesterday kicked off National Nursing Home Week, "MOMENTS IN BLOOM." The residents and staff showed their gratitude by designing flowers to appreciate the staff and their friends.

"Bloom of Day" is Theresa and Larry, who have been married for 30 years today. When Theresa was asked what the secret to marriage is, her response was, "He is so handsome and hard to resist." All Larry could do was smile. These two are always singing, going outside for sunshine and attending shows to showcase their sweet dance moves, and always sharing a kiss. Please show love to the happy couple.
