Exhibit practical knowledge of behavior management principles, medication management, implementation of basic motor skills training techniques, alternative communication systems & medical aspects of disabled populations
Ability to work with intellectually disabled adults with intellectual, developmental, physical and mental disabilities
Enable individuals to acquire, improve & maintain maximum functional abilities
Train & assist in settings which will allow peer interactions and an opportunity or community & social integration
Act as occasional shift leader to ensure all services are completed as scheduled
Write work orders for repairs in the work place as needed
Provide direct-care in areas such as personal care, communication, independent living, socialization, recreation, leisure skills,etc.
Ensures that safety and welfare of individuals by adhering to OSHA regulations
Provides verbal instructions & records daily documentation of service delivery
Responds immediately & appropriately to medical and clinical emergencies
Transports individuals for medical care as needed
Knowledge of regulations of licensure, Human Rights and OSHA
Ability to supervise intellectually disabled adults in a residential setting
Conducting training for intellectually disabled adults in personal care, social, environmental & safety awareness, utilization of community resources, appropriate peer interaction, activities of daily living, sensory stimulation & fine & gross motor skills
Knowledge of TOVA, CPR & First Aid (training providing if necessary)
