Say hello to Maisie!!! She’s just the sweetest! Maisie joined her parents, Nicole and Garrett, and big sister Violet, this past August. When I tell you she was in a hurry, I mean it! Nicole‘s water broke in the middle of the night. Things ramped up quickly, and when she arrived at the hospital an hour later, she was almost completely dilated! And, in a most impressive entrance, Maisie came into the world weighing 9ln 13oz! Nicole’s focus and strength was so inspiring, and Garrett never left her side. It was the most beautiful way to start a day! Congratulations to your sweet family, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of this sacred moment!

I’m so excited to be joining this team on a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic in three weeks! I am still collecting baby clothes (0-6m), women and children’s shoes, and fitted twin sheets. If you would like to donate, please let me know. I’m happy to come to you to pick up in the next two weeks. Thank you so much to those of you who have already donated clothes and money. Thank you for blessing the families we will serve!

Oh, sweet Eden! She was in such a hurry to join her beautiful family that she decided to come very quickly- before her mom’s midwife or doula could even arrive! Morgan and Brian prepped and planned for a peaceful, Christ-centered homebirth. Their beautiful daughter understood the assignment and was born in their bathroom with just her mom and dad. Eden joined her parents and four older siblings at home this past summer. And even though she was born before I arrived, it was still the most beautiful honor to be welcomed into her postpartum space, where God was praised, laughs were had, kids waded in an unused birth pool, and snuggles were abundant! Everyone say hi to Juneau!! She joined her sweet family in August, and I am just over the moon for them! There’s something so special about watching a family grow, and their story is really beautiful. I have had the privilege of serving Liz and Keagan three times over the past four years, watching Liz’s births evolve from fear-driven and traumatic to peaceful, healing, and restorative. Juneau was born at home, surrounded by people who love her. The past year also brought two extra special sisters to them, bringing them to a lovely family of 7! They are fierce, bold, and I can’t wait to see how the Lord works through them as their family continues to make waves in this world!

Every now and then a birth comes along that knocks me off my feet and humbles me. Violet’s birth several months ago did just that! I spend a lot of time talking with my clients about what a typical first labor looks like, and she flipped my script completely upside down! Lisa labored beautifully for a long time at home, but her contractions never got closer than 15 minutes apart. After many, many hours, she was feeling a lot of pressure with each contraction and decided to go to the hospital to get checked out. Imagine my complete shock and awe when I received a text that said, “10cm.” I ran out the door and made it to the hospital with just a couple of minutes to spare! Congratulations to Lisa and Tim, whose daughter has proven she knows how to make quite the entrance!

Ahhh… that surreal moment of, “holy cow… I did it!” Welcome to the world, sweet Mikayla! Weighing 7lbs 12oz and perfectly as sweet as she could be, Mikayla joined her parents and big sister, Ellie, in June. Jen and Dan worked beautifully alongside their doula, Brandy, who was kind enough to cover for me when I was unable to attend their birth. Congratulations to you guys! You did such an amazing job and I’m so proud of you!

It was the greatest blessing to be able to serve Jocelyn and Madison as they welcomed their daughter, Emersyn, into the world! Jocelyn had prepared and hoped for a homebirth, but after many (many, many, MANY) hours of laboring at home, she and Madison made the decision to transfer to the hospital. Emersyn had gotten herself into a position that required more interventions to get her out, and Jocelyn needed rest and hydration. After a nap and a lot of position changes with the help of a wonderful nurse, Jocelyn was able to deliver her sweet girl right into the waiting hands of her husband! Weighing a respectable 9lb 1oz, Emersyn was met with love right from the start. She joins big brother Colton at home. It was a pleasure to see your family grow, thank you for allowing me to serve you!

Look at this sweet, sweet family!! Shea and JB welcomed Joel Branch Whitten V (yup, the 5th!) to their family in May, and he could not be any more perfect! Laboring at home for many hours before heading to the hospital, Shea and JB worked together so well to keep her moving and comfortable. Her goal was to arrive at the hospital later in labor and have an unmedicated birth, and that’s just what she did! Joel was worth every moment of hard work, weighing in at 6lb 13oz and immediately capturing his parents’ hearts! Shea and JB, it was such an honor to serve you and to watch your family grow! I’m so proud of you

Say hi to Noah, everyone! I had the most wonderful privilege of serving Kaitlyn and Wesley a few months ago as they welcomed their second son. Joining his parents and his big brother, Paul, Noah made quite the spectacular entrance to this world! It was Kaitlyn‘s desire to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and that’s just what she did! Just like in the movies, her water broke while she was shopping at Costco! Soon after, she began having contractions that led her to the hospital, where Wesley supported her as she labored like a pro! She achieved her VBAC, pushing out her 9lb 1oz perfect boy as “Firm Foundation” played in the background. The presence of God most surely filled that room through the entire labor and delivery, and it was such a blessing to be a part of it. Welcome to the world, sweet boy! Kaitlyn and Wesley, I am SO proud of you for finding your voices and advocating for yourselves. You are amazing!
