It was the greatest blessing to be able to serve Jocelyn and Madison as they welcomed their daughter, Emersyn, into the world! Jocelyn had prepared and hoped for a homebirth, but after many (many, many, MANY) hours of laboring at home, she and Madison made the decision to transfer to the hospital. Emersyn had gotten herself into a position that required more interventions to get her out, and Jocelyn needed rest and hydration. After a nap and a lot of position changes with the help of a wonderful nurse, Jocelyn was able to deliver her sweet girl right into the waiting hands of her husband! Weighing a respectable 9lb 1oz, Emersyn was met with love right from the start. She joins big brother Colton at home. It was a pleasure to see your family grow, thank you for allowing me to serve you!

Look at this sweet, sweet family!! Shea and JB welcomed Joel Branch Whitten V (yup, the 5th!) to their family in May, and he could not be any more perfect! Laboring at home for many hours before heading to the hospital, Shea and JB worked together so well to keep her moving and comfortable. Her goal was to arrive at the hospital later in labor and have an unmedicated birth, and that’s just what she did! Joel was worth every moment of hard work, weighing in at 6lb 13oz and immediately capturing his parents’ hearts! Shea and JB, it was such an honor to serve you and to watch your family grow! Say hi to Noah, everyone! I had the most wonderful privilege of serving Kaitlyn and Wesley a few months ago as they welcomed their second son. Joining his parents and his big brother, Paul, Noah made quite the spectacular entrance to this world! It was Kaitlyn‘s desire to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and that’s just what she did! Just like in the movies, her water broke while she was shopping at Costco! Soon after, she began having contractions that led her to the hospital, where Wesley supported her as she labored like a pro! She achieved her VBAC, pushing out her 9lb 1oz perfect boy as “Firm Foundation” played in the background. The presence of God most surely filled that room through the entire labor and delivery, and it was such a blessing to be a part of it. Welcome to the world, sweet boy! Kaitlyn and Wesley, I am SO proud of you for finding your voices and advocating for yourselves. You are amazing!

I have the most beautiful, sacred honor of seeing women become moms. Thank you, God, for this path. For allowing me to be a part of the miracle that is childbirth, for allowing me to see families grow and strengthen. For allowing me to hold space for families as they welcome their children. I am so in awe. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms I have had the privilege of serving.

It was the sweetest honor getting to serve my friends Ashley and Shawn for the second time as they welcomed their son, Carter Lucas, in February. The presence of the Lord was felt every inch of their home as Ashley labored. Carter’s gender was a surprise, and we were all eager to see who would be joining their family. As their midwife, photographer, and I watched on, Ashley and Shawn worked together beautifully and calmly to bring Carter earth side. Once he was born, Ashley just sat with him on her chest for several moments, taking in all that had just happened. And as she stood to get out of the tub, she realized she had a son. “It’s a boy, I can’t believe we have a boy.” Carter Lucas, named in memory of his big brother who passed away, was here. Carter weighed 7lbs 11oz and was immediately surrounded with so much love and safety. He joins his sisters Vivian, Amelia, and Zoey. God is good, all the time, and I am so blessed to see His miracles unfold.

Congratulations to Mickey and Stephen on the birth of their daughter, Indiana! Mickey and Stephen welcomed Indy just two hours after arriving at the hospital, achieving the unmedicated birth they had hoped for. It was such an honor to watch this family grow. They worked together beautifully to create a calm, relaxing space for Indy to be born. Mickey showed such strength and control! Thank you for letting me serve your sweet family. How sweet is Joanna!!! Congratulations to Rebekah, Jeremiah, and big sister Charley on the birth of their newest family member. Joanna was born in a fast and furious labor in December. What began as small contractions at home very quickly turned into transition as Rebekah and Jeremiah headed to the hospital. Rebekah delivered Joanna very soon after in a beautiful, peaceful, unmedicated birth, which had been her hope. Joanna weighed 7lbs 1oz. I'm so grateful to have been part of your birth team, Rebekah & Jeremiah! Thank you for trusting me to support you! You are such a blessing to me!

Say hello to Poppy! This sweet girl was born back in November to parents Elisa and Gerhard. Poppy was quite literally a labor of love! Elisa's labor room was surrounded by so much peace and love. Her labor went smoothly and she was able to achieve her goal of an unmedicated birth, which ended with Elisa enduring five hours of pushing! Poppy was clearly quite content! Weighing a perfect 7lbs 15oz, Poppy joined her family and was met with the most loving words and hugs. Welcome to the world, sweet girl! Elisa and G, it was such an honor to witness your most beautiful day!

Welcome to the world, Grayson! Congratulations to and Brian on the birth of their second son! He joins big brother, Maverick, at home. Brian was so excited to get to catch his sweet boy as Caitlin delivered him. It’s always so special when a family asks me to serve them for multiple births. I had the honor of serving Caitlin and Brian during Maverick’s birth 5 years ago, and it was such a blessing to watch their family grow again. Congratulations to your family, and thank you for trusting me to be a part of your birth team once again!

Welcome to the world, Gavin!!!! Congratulations to Jessica and Justin and big sister Olivia on their newest addition. Gavin is already the envy of his neighborhood because he gets cake AND candy on his Halloween birthday! He’s also got a pretty epic head of hair… Weighing in at 8lb 4oz, Gavin made his entrance in a beautiful unmedicated birth, as his parents had hoped and prepared for. It was my pleasure to serve this family for the second time during their most special day. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your birth team!
