So many doctors think of cesareans as an easier option and women begin to think of it as easier than experiencing labor. However, is it really easy? Our bodies are complex, and a c-section is major surgery. While we will always be thankful for cesareans as an emergency option when necessary, we should always be encouraging women against a c-section when it is not necessary. Labor is better for the baby, and a regular delivery is also better for mama’s body and her recovery. I’m also a mama who ended up with a cesarean, but I now equip mothers with the tools to avoid them if at all possible. Knowledge is power.

Have you ever considered that your body needs to be fully nourished to be able to pass on all those nutrients and building blocks to your growing baby in the womb? Not always, but sometimes infertility can be explained by the body lacking the nutrient reserves to support a healthy growing baby. This also relates to hormones. A woman’s body will not have the right hormones if she does not have the right nutrition. This can be a really important stepping stone to fertility.
“You can’t build a healthy baby on a depleted foundation.”
— Morley Robbins, Founder of The Root Cause Protocol
Women are taught to prepare for pregnancy with checklists.
Prenatals. Lab work. Maybe a diet tweak or two.
But what almost no one talks about is the mineral debt most women are already carrying — long before that positive test.
👉 Years of stress.
👉 Birth control.
👉 Poor soil.
👉 Ultra-processed food.
👉 Over-the-counter supplements that deplete rather than replenish.
By the time many women conceive, their mineral tanks — especially magnesium, copper, and retinol — are already running on empty.
And then comes pregnancy…
A time of miraculous creation — that pulls everything from the mother to grow that little life.
As Morley says:
“Pregnancy is a mineral-intensive event. And if those minerals aren’t present, the mother will give what she has — and pay the price with her own health.”
These aren’t just “postpartum things” to be endured.
They’re signs of mineral depletion — and the body asking for help.
✨ This is why the Root Cause Protocol is so powerful.
It’s not a band-aid.
It’s a roadmap to restore the very minerals that support life — for both mother and baby.
The RCP gently nourishes and rebuilds with:
✔️ Magnesium — to calm the body and support over 3,700 enzymes
✔️ Retinol (true vitamin A) — to activate copper and regulate gene expression
✔️ Bioavailable copper — for energy, immune function, and iron regulation
✔️ Whole food vitamin C — to support collagen, adrenal health, and mineral movement
Before conception, during pregnancy, and in postpartum recovery — minerals matter more than we’ve been told.
💛 Your body isn’t failing you.
It’s simply asking for deeper nourishment.
Not synthetic quick fixes — but the building blocks of true vitality.
If you’re a woman preparing for pregnancy, growing life, or healing after birth — this message is for you.
You deserve support that honors the whole you.
Start with the Root Cause Protocol.
It’s not just about health — it’s about legacy.
I had not thought about the risks of a seatbelt on mama and baby during an accident. I saw an advertisement for a product that I think would be clearly helpful during an accident for a pregnant mama. I’ll post it below and I am not associated with this company.

Let's talk emotional health. So often we disregard our emotions, since let's face it, our emotions can truly seem trivial at times. We feel upset about one thing when we are actually upset about something else, we receive emotions from others and can allow them to disrupt our own emotions, and when given free reign our emotions can quickly result in anxiety and depression.
What do we do with these haywire things called emotions?
Emotional processing is essential. We have to name our emotions. We have to accept that they are truly there no matter how irrational we know them to be or how inconvenient. Then we have to ask ourselves why we feel this way and learn from our emotions. They are pesky and sometimes incorrect, but we can learn a lot from "incorrect" emotions.
I personally tend to hold onto emotions that tell me I'm not good enough. If someone makes me feel inadequate, unloved, or less than, the emotions I feel go wild. It's like a bad emotion party. When new situations affirm hidden feelings about ourselves, the "incorrect" emotions remind us that we still haven't grown out of old perceptions. We can slowly call out the lies that say, "I'm not good enough." and replace them with, "I make mistakes, but I am kind, loving, and precious in God's eyes."
What are you learning from your emotions? Do you have some underlying worldviews about yourself or other things that need changing?

Do you have your apothecary cabinet stocked for the winter?
Winter shouldn't be any different than any other time of the year, but statistically, we don't get out into the sun as much, thus we have less Vitamin D in our bodies. In addition, statistically for most Americans, we eat more sugar in the winter, decreasing our already low stores of nutrients.
Therefore, remedies for illness are necessary! We must prepare. These are my top "must haves" for the winter.
Elderberry Syrup
Oil of Oregano
A homeopathy kit
Hot Water Bottles
Ginger Root
Ginger Tincture
Magnesium Glycinate
Lugols Iodine
Activated Charcoal
Throat Comfort Tea

Have you ever heard of the concept of focusing on systems not just goals? I started reading the book Atomic Habits recently, and I realized that while I LOVE goals. I need more systems in place to make my goals more attainable. When setting goals, I always noticed that I'd make progress toward them, but not always hit my goals. I was comfortable with progress, but I love the concept of systems that make progress solidified and goals more like check points.
What do health, fertility, and parenting systems look like?
Personal health systems are ways you live your life to increase your health. A system utilizes regular habits to propel your motion. Examples:
Weekly meal planning with weekly grocery shopping trips
Daily routine of supplements
Scheduled exercise routine - 5 minutes, then 10, then more
Outdoor time like clockwork - soak in the D
For fertility, the systems are a little different. Sometimes, a system is ways NOT to do something that would poorly affect fertility. Examples:
If you have a regular habit of filling your glass of wine at 6 PM every night when you get home, then fill your glass with a favorite alternative instead. Make a new habit that you still enjoy.
Create a list of relaxation methods that do not involve alcohol. Pick one out a night until you decide on your favorites.
Go for a walk each night at 6 PM. Changing your routine sometimes helps you break past habits.
For parenting, establishing a nighttime routine for your children can be a huge help in meeting family goals.
What is your favorite habit that helps you thrive as a mom?

I love spicy foods. I definitely have felt my mood lift as I consumed the fiery treat. Have you experienced the therapeutic benefits of spice?
Spicy foods don’t just burn your tongue—they soothe your soul. This poetic deep dive explores how capsaicin triggers endorphins, relieves anxiety, and turns pain into pleasure. It’s therapy in a bowl of chili.

Where are you in your health journey?
10/06/2025
True? I’m not entirely sure. Is this worth researching? 100%.
Let’s promote liver health, not destroy our livers with medicine known to cause liver failure.
No matter what agenda you do not agree with in the world, your job is to protect your body and the body of your unborn baby. There is no political view worth endangering yourself and your baby.
I will be posting ideas for headache relief and pain relief for pregnancy in some future posts as well as ways to take care of your liver. Many women already have liver damage due to medicine and alcohol, so instead of making it worse, we can actually promote healing and restore our livers.
Take care of your body, your liver, and your baby. You are beautiful and so is your baby.

It Began
The story of Boholistic Mom began about the time that I was pregnant with my son. I started to search for healthier options for my family. Before this point, I had no idea that there were healthy fats and artificial fats. I had never made a connection between food and my health.
After a while of finding organic foods to feed my son and learning what high fructose corn syrup was, my husband and I discovered the Weston A. Price Foundation through Joel Salatin’s website. When we moved to Italy, I used the Nourishing Traditions cookbook and began to make broth for the first time in my life. My life was forever changed as was my health.
The baby weight that I had been carrying from pregnancy faded away as I began to nourish my body with broth, coconut oils, and fresh Italian foods. I normalized to a healthy me and I loved being able to share about real foods and the traditional diets that I was learning about.
Essential Oils and Remedies
At this point, I joined Young Living Essential Oils to have new options for my family’s health. Using these oils and other herbal remedies, I became capable of keeping my family well and stopping small issues from becoming large issues. We have not had the need of antibiotics in over four years. God has given us plants that promote wellness, why not use them?
My Blog
While in Italy, I began my blog Boholistic Mom to share about the amazing things I was learning and to help other mothers to take steps toward nourishing their families. On my site, I have real food recipes (some fast and some slow and traditional), bohemian style tips, fair trade information, traditional remedies, as well as pregnancy and fertility information. I even use my own blog to look up recipes I have posted and remedies I need when I am out and about!
The Need
We moved back to the States a little over three years ago and I had to find new options for fresh food. As you may have noticed, Americans no longer know what fresh food is. Most of our restaurants do not serve fresh food and our diet is heavy laden with artificial oils. I missed having fresh olive oil with every meal!!!
My Goal
While in Mississippi, I was able to become a certified doula and teach classes as a traditional health coach. My goal is to help women in their births, teach women about their health, and encourage women with nurturing ideas on BoholisticMom.com as my business moves to Washington, DC.
