It’s time to start taking a closer look at our palates, and here’s why ⬇️
Did you know the width of your child’s palate plays a HUGE role in breathing, sleep, speech, and overall development? 👃🦷
A properly developed palate creates enough space for the tongue to rest comfortably at the roof of the mouth, supports nasal breathing, and allows room for teeth to grow in without crowding.
When the palate is too narrow, it can contribute to:
• Mouth breathing
• Crowded or crooked teeth
• Snoring or restless sleep
• Low tongue posture
• Speech sound challenges
• Feeding difficulties in some children
Palatal growth happens early, and the first signs of a narrow palate can show up long before braces are considered. That’s why early screening matters — we’re not just looking at teeth, we’re looking at function, airway, and long-term health.
If you’ve noticed mouth breathing, snoring, or crowded teeth, it may be worth taking a closer look at your child’s palate development.
✨ Early awareness leads to better outcomes.
