May Day has long been a marker of renewal—longer days, more light, and the quiet sense that something new can begin.

In therapy, that beginning is often simple: a conversation, a shift in perspective, a space to think more clearly.

We’re expanding our therapy services at Northeast Neuropsychology, making it easier to access thoughtful, supportive care when you’re ready.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start.

🌿 This season, consider what beginning might look like for you.

Took a walk around Darien before the Newport Healthcare networking lunch and couldn’t resist capturing a few moments—classic street clock, the charm of The Goose, spring scenes in the park, and even a very photogenic storefront pup 🐾

More to come with the actual lunch photos… this was the prelude

Spring is showing up right now — daffodils pushing through soil that was frozen not long ago.

Healing can look like that too.
Slow. Uneven. Sometimes invisible before it breaks through.

If you’re carrying grief, anxiety, or something you can’t quite name yet…
you don’t have to push through it alone.

At Northeast Neuropsychology, therapy is a place to thaw, process, and begin again — in your own time.

The developing brain is shaped long before childhood begins.

Nutrition during pregnancy and early childhood plays a critical role in the structural and functional development of cognition. Emerging research is helping clarify how early dietary factors influence long-term brain health.

During the two-day virtual event, Optimizing Brain Health and Cognition Across the Lifespan, Mara Whiteside, PhD will examine the relationship between nutrition and neurodevelopment and the role neuropsychologists play in translating this research into clinical practice.

This session is one of many exploring how modifiable lifestyle and biological factors influence cognition across the entire lifespan.

You can sing every word to a song from 40 years ago… but forget what someone said two minutes ago.
Why?
Long-term memories — especially music tied to emotion — are stored differently in the brain than short-term, working memory. When recent memory starts slipping but older memories stay strong, it can feel confusing and frustrating.
If you or a loved one are noticing short-term memory loss, repeating questions, or trouble remembering recent conversations, it may be time to look closer.
Clarity matters. Call us at 203-272-6007
Keep letting music light up your brain.
Joy, connection, and rhythm still matter — at every age. 💙 &roll

The snow has settled, the forest is quiet, and the world feels softer after the storm. ❄️🌲
Mental health can feel like this too — a long climb, sometimes hidden under the weight of the season. Therapy can help you slow down, notice the small steps, and appreciate the path you’re on.
Even in the stillness, you are moving forward.
