We had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people at the "Cozy Fall Meetup" event at the Historic Manchester Chamber of Commerce. It was also Halloween! Such a beautiful building with all its original details, including the original windows and a beautiful staircase. Even the original radiators made it cozy on a very windy day following a Nor'easter! Tom's coffee truck was great. ☕🍵🥤🧋😄

Why do we love scary movies and haunted houses? 👻
Because fear gives our brains a safe thrill!

That rush of adrenaline and dopamine helps us practice calming down after stress — a mini workout for emotional regulation. 🧠💪

A little fear can actually build emotional resilience.
So this Halloween, enjoy the chills — your brain’s learning, too. 🕸️What is your favorite Scary thrill? What's your favorite way to get a good scare? Share below! 👇

Look what we made! 🍂🕯️
Northeast Neuropsychology’s employee craft night was such a blast! We made these beautiful leaf candle holders, and we can’t wait to share how you can make your own.

✨ Here’s how:
1️⃣ Grab a smooth glass jar.
2️⃣ Head outside and collect leaves or flat flowers (if you’re in New England, this weekend is peak leaf "picking" season! 🍁).
3️⃣ Press your leaves between book pages or parchment paper for 1–3 days.
4️⃣ Clean your jar (rubbing alcohol helps remove residue).
5️⃣ Using Mod Podge and a medium paintbrush, add a thin layer to part of your jar.
6️⃣ When it’s tacky, press on a leaf, then paint another thin layer over it. Repeat one leaf at a time. Be patient!
7️⃣ When your design is complete, seal the whole jar with a final coat of Mod Podge.

We had such a great mix of clinicians and admins joining in — it was the perfect way to unwind and get creative together. 🌿

We’d love to see what you make! Get outside this weekend, collect some fall leaves, and tag us in your creations!

A 2025 study in Neuropsychology reveals that Alzheimer’s-related proteins—amyloid and tau—may impact thinking and memory even before diagnosis. Researchers from Ohio State University found that these proteins are linked to declines in executive functioning (like planning and multitasking) even in older adults without cognitive impairment, highlighting the importance of early detection and monitoring of brain health.
