Yesterday, CHC/ACT proudly partnered with Cornell Scott - Hill Health Center to host the 2025 Connecticut Healthcare for the Homeless Symposium in Bridgeport.

Hundreds of health care professionals came together to address the growing challenges of serving individuals without stable housing.

“We are seeing homelessness increase. We are seeing people at risk of homelessness increase. That is in direct correlation to the health care that folks need,” said Jennifer Paradis, Executive Director of the Beth-El Center and keynote speaker.

“We’ve seen, unfortunately, some incredible growth in the number of homeless people that we’re serving. In this year, it increased almost 25% to almost 20,000 patients,” added Shawn Frick, CEO of CHCACT.

From opening care sites in homeless resource centers to addressing the urgent need for affordable housing, the symposium highlighted one powerful truth: housing is healthcare, and everyone deserves access to quality care.
