🔍 Word searches can be fun — but for kids with vision challenges, they can feel impossible.

If your child struggles to find letters or words in a jumble, reverses b’s and d’s, or mixes up left and right, it may be more than just a learning phase.

🧠 Word searches challenge key visual skills like:

🔹 Visual discrimination – telling similar shapes (like b vs. d) apart
🔹 Directionality – knowing which way a letter or word is facing

When kids play games like Simon Says, they’re practicing important skills like:

🔹 Visual memory – remembering and repeating what they see
🔹 Directionality – knowing left from right and understanding spatial relationships
🔹 Body awareness – coordinating movement based on visual input

These skills are essential for reading, writing, spelling, and learning — but here’s the catch:

👓 Typical eye exams don’t check for them.
