The shop is looking so cozy and beautiful! I’m so incredibly proud of Michelle, Vaylyn, Charlie and Jayda! It’s truly a full family effort!
I had an inner knowing that the Golden’s could create a truly incredible experience for the community and visitors! They have surpassed my expectations and I’m so impressed with all the hard work and magic that they put into curating the shop!

To clear up any confusion there might be - the shop is still my business until January 1st, 2026 - then it will be fully 👈🏼follow them!!

My business, Songbird Wellness will be coming to Oregon. (I’ll see you VT for Starry Starry night December 20th).

Sassafras • Sassafras albidum • is such a funny little dude! 1,2 and 3 fingers on its leaves.

“Sassafras was known primarily as a medicinal herb to the American Indians and, later, to the Europeans, who shipped great quantities to shops in England and on the Continent. The leaves could be made into teas and poultices, while the root bark was either chipped or crushed and then steeped in boiling water–one ounce of bark to one pint of water–and taken in doses of a wineglassful as often as needed to reduce fevers; soothe chronic rheumatism, gout, and dropsy; relieve eye inflammation; ease menstrual and parturition pain; help cure scurvy and various skin conditions; and act as a disinfectant in dental surgery. How I came to Vermont. How I left Vermont.

Boy, I sure am going to miss this wonderful little spot of our vast world. I have never become so close, so fast to a community - ever.
I may not ever live in a community where we wave and beep beep and notice when something at each other’s home is awry.

I have said this before and I will always say this about my time in Vermont : This has quite literally been the most healing time of my life.

I showed up sick/solo (truly solo) and defeated.

I left full, loved, content.

Everybody needs a good excuse to visit Vermont every once in a while — you guys are my good reason.

I love you all. Thank you for our friendships, your support, your generosity, your kindness, your laughs, your time and for your continued friendship despite our new distance apart.

This is the type of seamstress that my mother was. Custom and really communicated well with her clients.

I remember her staying up late at night with a wedding dress, rearranging the white seed beads for the bride.

She was an incredible formal artist.

I have her fabric scissors. I was NOT allowed to touch them when I was a child, so it feels a little weird having them! Like, can I open and close these…? Mom would say, don’t snap my scissors! ✂️

I’m starting my drive West on 9/23 and will be running the herb shop remotely until January. I have access to Amanda’s massage schedule, so please feel free to call me or her to schedule your massages.
