Today members of the Chester First Aid squad placed flags at Pleasant Hill Cemetery remembering those who served the community over the years. Thank you to all the members of the squad who give so much to our community.

Today members of the American Legion Post 342 in Chester placed approximately 250 flags on the graves of veterans at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Due to shipping and supply chain issues not all the flags arrived in time for this morning. Additional flags will be placed over the next 7 to 10 days as shipments arrive so be on the lookout as our veterans continue this good work.

Pleasant Hill Cemeteries are run by volunteers. Russ Duryea has been a Trustee for many years. As the obituary says “a community ambassador”. Russ loved Chester and the people in it. Rest In Peace Russ.
