Ralph Clark, 68, husband of Susan Hill Clark passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2025. He was the son of the late Jessie T. and Hazel Gaston Clark. He is survived by four daughters, Jessica Clark Caldwell (Billy), Tara Novicllo (Dominick), Samantha Jacobs (John), Kayla Roach (Trey); two brothers, John "Skip" Clark (Lisa), Donnie Clark; one sister Deb Compton (Kenneth); grandchildren, Victoria Clark, Danny Vess (Carrie) Nicholas Revels, Jayme Norton, Keleigh Copeland (Tyler), Olivia Vess (H.A.), Maggie Roach, Ethan Revels, Landon Vess, Brennan Roach, Carter Norton, Rylan Revels; great-grandchildren, Journey Copeland, Ryleigh Revels and Dawson Vess. Ralph was preceded in death by son Jeffrey Clark, Jr., brothers, Eddie “Shine” Clark, Ronnie “RJ” Clark; parents, Jessi & Hazel Clark; grandson, Nicholas Revels.
Ralph was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. He loved working on old cars and racing. He dearly loved his family, fishing and being a jokester.
Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 1st. at Pollard Funeral Home. The funeral, conducted by Pastor Kenneth Compton and Mr. Trey Roach, will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2nd. at Tabernacle Ministries. The burial will be in Lando Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Tabernacle Ministries, 4500 Great Falls Highway, Great Falls, SC 29055.

Sybil Funderburk, 68, passed away Monday in Rock Hill. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lane Wheeler and Annie Blackwell Wheeler. Sybil was the widow of Dannie Lee Funderburk and the mother of Daniel Lee Funderburk (Samantha) of Spartanburg, SC Kendra Funderburk of York, SC and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Marie Funderburk Grant of Liberty, SC; four sisters, Patsy McCollough, Barbara Padgett, Sandra Renner and Lucille Brooks. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Woodrow Mungo, Jr.
Sybil was a Baptist and she thrived on time spent with her family, reading and journaling.
A memorial service and visitation will be held Friday, August 29 at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mt. Gallant Rd in Rock Hill. Visitation begins at 1:00 and the service begins at 2:00. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to Wayne T. Patrick Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill.

Patsy Ann Lipford, 56, passed away Monday August 18, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Lee McInvaille and Shirley Pope McInvaille. Patsy was the widow of Wayne Lipford and the mother of two sons, Travis and John Lipford, both of Great Falls. She is also survived by two brothers, Danny and Ricky McInvaille both of Great Falls; three grandchildren Alexis, Addie and Mason Lipford.
No services are planned at this time.

Chester, SC It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Dianne Hawkins. She will be forever in our heart and our loving memory.

Dianne Hawkins, 74, of Chester, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025. She was born January 27, 1951 to the late Margaret Hazel Simmons and her adoptive parents, the late Geanie and Edger Sanders.

Dianne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Pamela Frye (Sara Hall), Johnny E. Frye, Tammy Williams (James Williams), David Sanders (Pamela Ladson), Charles Hill; 9 grandchildren, Brianna, Trevor, Austin, Johnathan, Junior, Logan, Alex, Brandon, and Allen; and several great grandchildren including Kameran, Jadyn, Keelyn, Nevaeh, Alexis Ramsey. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Tiny.

Dianne found joy in reading, cooking, feeding the neighborhood cats, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and listening to gospel music. She was a strong God fearing woman. She was extremely family oriented. To know her was to love her. Dianne was a one of a kind woman. She was always hard working, ambitious, and determined to do whatever she put her mind to. She was always supportive and loving. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dianne was predeceased by her parents, and several brothers and sisters.

Dianne's request was that no funeral service be held.

She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.

Richard Henry Wagner, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon. He was the recent widower of Shirley Smith Wagner (Feb. 5, 2025). He was born in Akron, Colorado to the late Henry and Zelma Yackle Wagner. He is survived by three sons, Dennis Wagner (Kathy) of Charlotte, NC, Cris Wagner (Donna) of Logan, Utah, Steve Wagner (Kristine Merrell) of Wheatridge, Colorado; one daughter, Lanette Preston of Chester; one sister, Winona Gebauer of Larkin Kansas; seven grandchildren, Adan Wagner (Ember), Sean Preston, Josh Wagner, Miles Preston, Hannah Morris (Jesse), Evan Preston and Elizabeth Wagner; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, De Wagner, Duane Wagner, Loren Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was retired from the HVAC business, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Margaret “Peggy” Scranton, 80, wife of Richard G. Scranton, of Chester, SC, passed away Friday the 25th of July. She was born in Bellville, NJ and the daughter of the late Charles Arnold Hannen and Mildred Hannen. In addition to her husband Peggy is survived by her step-mother, Jane R. Hannen; one sister, Elizabeth Hannen Olier ; four daughters, Suzanne Warnick (David Berner), Kathleen Traina (Mark), Margaret Driscol (David), Nancy Murnieks (Chris Schoenig); grandchildren, Jason Jaworski Traina (Sean), Kory Traina (Erin), Kristen Traina (Thomas Fischer). Also surviving is one great-grand-child, Elliot Martin Traina; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth’s husband, Frank Olier.
Peggy was a faithful and active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chester, SC where she was a member of the United Women of Faith, a member of Bethel Lights. She was also a volunteer member of Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen where she cooked and packed food for the community. She was a recipient of the United Women of Faith Special Mission Award. Peggy was a grand cook and always brought her wonderful dishes to many church events.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 751, Chester, SC 29706.
All service will be private.

Janie B. Bland, 53, passed away Saturday. She was the daughter of Kathy Cameron Bunkly Cain (Scott) of Chester and the late David Bunkley. Janie is survived by her companion, Malcom Benson of Chester; two sons, Dave Bland of Gaffney and Cameron Bunkley of York; one brother, David Bunkley (Jenni Rose) of Rock Hill; two sisters, Candice Cain and Martie Ramsey (Tim) both of Chester; five grandchildren and several nieces & nephews that loved her dearly. Janie was preceded in death by one daughter, Jessica Bland.
Janie was a Baptist and she dearly loved song writing, singing, fishing, canning and gardening.
A memorial service to celebrate Janie’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 19 in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home.

Bruce Edward Futter, Sr. passed away Sunday after a brief illness in Piedmont Hospital. He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Fredrick William Futter and Florence Burch Futter. He is survived by two sons, Bruce E. Futter, Jr. and wife Carmen of Lawndale, NC, Fred Futter and wife Jan of Detroit Michigan; one daughter, Angela Franklin and husband Bobby of Great Falls, SC; two sisters, Linda Fuller of Danville, NY, Mickey Evans of Hickory Grove, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Ann Shelly and Elizabeth Jane Kellogg.
Mr. Futter was a Christian and a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved camping and fishing and he was a retired grading and heavy equipment operator.

She is also survived by three sons, Ronald C. Hall of Chester, Jason E. Hall (Renee) of Winnsboro, Zachary B. Hall of Alabama; two brothers, William E. “Gene” Laws (Sherry) of Sandy Ridge, NC and Richard Laws (Rebecca) of Carlisle; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Heather Nichole Hall.

Richard Alan Weyel, 70, of Chester passed away Wednesday. He was a retired towing and recovery truck operator in Connecticut and had made his home in Chester for the last 4 years
He was born in New Haven, Connecticut to the late William R. and Margaret Olvie Weyel. Richard was widowed from Valerie Hackley Weyel. He is survived by one daughter, Cindy Hardy of Chester; brothers William Robert Weyel, III (Vivian) of Conn., Russell Weyel of Conn., Kenny Weyel (Chris) of Arizona, Brian Weyel of Conn.; sister, Jackie Coppola of Conn; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Alan Weyel and daughter, Sandra Vee Weyel.
Mr. Weyel’s desire was to be cremated. No memorial service is planned. Pollard Funeral Home is serving the family.

Joyce McGarity, 71, passed away Tuesday morning. She was born in Yancy County, NC to the late Fay and Ruth Roland Hudgins. She was the widow of Dan Benson and the mother of 2 sons, David Glenn Woody and Scotty Woody both of Chester. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Justin Woody (Savannah) and Hannah Sexton (Michael); 1 great-grandson, Waylon Woody. Her surviving siblings are, Martha Burleson, Louise Burgin, Maybeline Barnett (Clay), Peggy Bowens (Junior), Carroll Hudgins (Mary), Roscoe Hudgins (Mary), Carl Hudgins (Tanis) all of Burnsville, NC, Mary McMinn (Bo), Virginia Wilson (Mike) and Francella Gouge (Jeremy) all of Marion, NC, Donna McCormick of Knoxville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Lee Roy Hudgins.
Joyce was a Baptist and she loved crocheting, cooking and baking. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28th at Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street, Chester, SC 29706. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Justin Ford will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.

Linda Burden, 77, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025. She was born in Marion, NC to the late Charles L. and Mary Holland Foster. Linda was the widow of Michael L. Burden. She is survived by three sons, Charles Burden of Nebo, NC, Steve L. Burden of Marion, NC, John Burden (Angela Boyd Burden) of Chester; one sister, Elizabeth Loftis of Marion, NC; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter and 1 great-grandson.
Linda was a Christian and was a Sunday school teacher when her health was better. She worked in retail sales for 25 years in Chester, where she loved talking to her customers. The memorial service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street, Chester, SC 29706.
