Our annual Department of Medicine Special Grand Rounds: Alan E. Barman, D.O. “Resident Scholarly Excellence Award” program was held at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Congratulations to Aanchal Sawhney, M.D., Internal Medicine resident, who received the Outstanding Resident Award. Dr. Sawhney is an aspiring cardiologist and has made immense contributions to the program with her mentorship, quality improvement projects, and research. Reckless and distracted driving is the number one killer of teens in America. The Impact Teen Drivers program empowers teens to keep themselves and others safe while driving. Crozer-Chester Medical Center recently received the 2024 Founders Award from Delaware County Victim Assistance Center, recognized for its establishment of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE).

According to the DCVAC, CCMC was the first hospital 50 years ago that invited them in to accompany and support victims of sexual assault through forensic examination. Dr. Max Cooper, CCMC’s Emergency Medicine physician, accepted the prestigious award.

Congratulations to our SANE nurses for their tireless efforts, compassion, and dedication to their patients.

Congratulations to our Taylor Hospital Rehab nurse Linda Hummel for receiving the April DAISY Award, which thanks nurses for the care and kindness they provide. As stated in one of her nominations from patients and families, “Linda is an amazing nurse who makes her patients feel safe, comfortable and cared for, all with a smile!” They spoke highly of the compassionate way she tended to their needs.
