Flower Essences: Tools for Clarity and care is back with on Saturday October 25th.

In this hands-on introductory class, you will learn the history and basics of crafting Flower Essences and how to work with them. Create a custom essence using intuitive practices and receive a detailed take-home protocol to continue deepening your understanding of this medicine.

Amy lives in Beacon, NY on Munsee, Lenape, and Wappingers land. She is proudly Oglala Lakota and Mexican with relatives on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and in Monterrey, MX. Amy’s work is rooted in ancestral knowledge, intuitive plant work, and a deep reverence for the Earth.

Want to learn herbalism this fall? We’ve got you covered.

On Saturday October 18 I’ll be farm with our annual Herbal Medicine 101: Prepare for the Winter Woes. This year we are talking echinacea, mullein, elderberry, astragalus, usnea, and a little (or big) elecampane surprise.

We will then be joined by the wonderful for Flower Essences: Tools for Clarity and Care on Saturday October 25th

Then on Sunday October 26 we are continuing our Hedge Herbalism series and talking tree and bark medicine.

Plus and I will be bringing you Crone Day once again on November 2nd. We’ll be closing down the shop for the day, and talking herbal support, nourishment and strategies for perimenopause and menopause.

Next Saturday Sept 20 Ali from is back!

We get questions about alcohol free alternatives to tinctures all the time at the shop. So here we go! Alchohol free herbalism is here. Thank you Ali!

Glycerites are herbal extracts made with vegetable glycerin. Glycerites are tasty, effective, and offer a wonderful alternative for folks who would like to make or take herbal tinctures but want to avoid alcohol.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into how and why glycerites work, exactly how to make them, and which herbs will work best for this preparation. Everyone will go home with a small bottle of herbal glycerite made during class!

September is full of wonders!

We’ll be busy teaching in Vermont this weekend but we’re back for Hedge Herbalism: Medicine from Farm to Forest on Sunday Sept 7 . We’re dedicating a whole day to Mugwort, from folklore to magical and medicinal uses, and how to bring this lovely local invasive into your medicine cabinet.

Ali from is back on Saturday September 20 for Alcohol Free Herbalism: Glycerites. If you feel like tinctures are not for you, or you want to enrich your medicine making skills with delicious remedies, this is the class for you (and for me!).

We then have our annual herbal gathering in September 28th. This is a big one! was created to celebrate the season, bring together our community, and learn from different herbalists from all kinds of backgrounds and levels of expertise. Spots are limited and we highly encourage you sign up early, $10 includes access to all events including the her fair.

August workshops are here! We’ve got lots to share as usual.

🌱 Saturday August 2nd Ali from will be teaching Handcrafting Herbal Oils and Salves. This is one you don’t want to miss, Ali is not only super knowledgeable and a great teacher, but she has been making her own products for years. You might have noticed her Violet oil and Evergreen oil in the shop…or not since they alway sell out. ☺️

🍄‍🟫 On Saturday August 9, I’ll be sharing the wonders of Adaptogens, this is an annual favorite and I change it up every year. This year we are focusing on energizing herbs and mushrooms! I’ll be posting more on .

💅 On Saturday August 16 you’ll find me talking Bones, Hair, Skin health and how to navigate hormones, stress, life and build long term strength, resilience and flexibility. I’ve been working on this class since last fall, and I am so excited to share what I have learned (and practiced!).

🌺 On Sunday August 17 we will be joined by the incredible for Flower Essences:Tools for Clarity and Care. We have been waiting for so long to offer classes on flower essences and their benefits, and we couldn’t be more excited.

🌳 Finally I’m back for Hedge Herbalism on August 23rd. We are continuing our spontaneous journey working with what the land has to offer. Every time we meet I am in awe of what we find…ancient plants, new friends, stories, makings. And just so I don’t leave you handing..I am pretty sure we’ll have an abundance of fresh elderberries to work with for this one, yum!

We are offering lots of medicine making workshops these days, part of our mission at Vulgaris Herbs is to support the at-home herbalist. What does that mean? It’s not all about the products and supplies, but also about the skills: instilling competence and confidence in everything we chose to make at home.

We’ve got so many wonderful experienced herbalists teaching at the shop this year. Many of you already know but if you don’t we highly encourage you to take a class with her. Ali has years of “dirt time” crafting her own medicine and sharing it with others. This is the biggest gift we can offer as medicine makers: teaching from experience. ☺️

Herbal infused oils and salves are a great way to bring the medicine of plants into your life. They can support skin and tissue healing, help with pain management, skin conditions and so much more!

Tinctures are one of the most effective herbal remedies. They can be simple and gentle, complex and potent, and everything in between. They are wonderful ways to preserve our seasonal remedies, easy to reach for and to use whenever we are in need of a boost. Most importantly, most herbs can be made into tinctures. This allows us to have a huge breadth of practical applications such as supporting our long term health, promoting healing and recovering from trauma and helping us deal with accute situations such as infections, anxiety, tension and pain.

In this class we are going to offer an in-depth look at tincture making, how to navigate commercial products, and how to work with various extractions, alcohols, ratios and more!

In addition to our usual stock of organic dried herbs, we are working with local farms to ensure we offer the highest quality seasonal herbs.

These herbs are freshly harvested and dried for optimal medicinal value, aroma, flavor and nutrient density. They are wonderful for making teas, infusions, tinctures and other herbal remedies.
