Happy St Patrick’s Day! Our sessions were filled with a little extra magic! We explored our St Patrick’s Day sensory table, incorporated some fine motor skills and even discovered some leprechaun coins hidden in a bubbling activity! Through play, we were building hand strength, coordination, sensory processing and problem solving —all while having so much FUN! #ʟᴇᴀʀɴɪɴɢᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜᴘʟᴀʏ

We had so much fun with these Dr. Seuss inspired activities! Our sensory and motor adventures had kids moving, balancing, and exploring while building their core strength and posture, regulation, eye hand coordination, motor planning, sensory processing, creativity and problem solving. The best things happen when you’re having fun and playing! Miss Dawn was a great Cat in the Hat!

A little late to the podium…but had to share some of our Olympic fun! We added some new Olympic themed activities this year including curling! From sliding, tossing and balancing our athletes were hard at work building respiration and breath control, ocular motor skills, eye-hand coordination, core strength and postural stability, motor planning and whole body movement. Most importantly everyone was engaged, having fun and motivated to try new things!

Snowy days call for snowman fun! As the snow falls outside, we’ve been gearing up for winter inside too! Our snowman craft is a fun, hands-on way to build executive function skills like planning, sequencing, following directions, problem solving and flexible thinking. This supports both motor skills and language development while the kids are engaged and proud of their creation. Learning through play is at the heart of what we do at KidTherapy!

As we close out this holiday season, we’re reflecting on all of the meaningful moments shared at KidTherapy. Each activity was more than just fun. Through traditions, we practiced motor planning, strength and coordination as well as sensory processing and regulation, fine motor and visual motor skills and social connection, flexible thinking and confidence. As we head into the new year, we’re excited to keep building on these foundations through play, movement and meaningful experiences!
