October is Depression Awareness Month, a time to shed light on a reality that touches so many lives. 💚

Depression often co-occurs with eating disorders, and when left unaddressed, it can make recovery feel even more overwhelming. At Hidden River, we know that healing requires treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

That’s why every patient’s care includes integrated psychiatric support alongside nutrition therapy, psychotherapy, skills training, and expressive therapies. Our team collaborates daily to ensure that both eating disorder symptoms and underlying concerns like depression and anxiety are supported with evidence-based, compassionate care.

No one should have to walk this journey alone. If you or someone you love is struggling, know that help is available.

At Hidden River, families are part of the healing process. 💙

We know that eating disorders affect not only the individual, but the entire family system. That’s why our program is designed to equip parents and caregivers with education, communication skills, and therapeutic support that strengthen the recovery process at home.

Each week, families connect with our multidisciplinary team for updates, guidance, and practical tools. These touchpoints ensure that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens together, with loved ones learning and growing alongside their child.

Recovery is most sustainable when families feel informed, supported, and empowered. At Hidden River, we honor every role families play in creating a foundation of hope, resilience, and connection.

🍁 Fall can be a season of comfort and change, but for many, it can also stir up body image struggles.

Layered clothing, food-focused gatherings, and the upcoming holidays may bring challenges that feel overwhelming.

Remember: Body image is complex, and it’s normal to feel unsettled when the seasons shift. At Hidden River, our multidisciplinary team helps patients explore these emotions with compassion and practical skills that support lasting recovery.

If you or a loved one are struggling, healing is possible, and support is here.

What’s in your Fall Recovery Toolkit? 🍁

As the seasons change, recovery can sometimes feel more challenging. Shorter days, shifting schedules, and new routines can all impact how grounded we feel. That’s why creating a Fall Recovery Toolkit can be such a powerful way to support your healing journey.

Your toolkit might include:
✨ A cozy blanket or weighted throw for comfort
✨ A favorite journal for reflection and gratitude
✨ A grounding mantra that brings you back to the present
✨ Gentle routines like evening tea or morning walks
✨ Supportive connections

💬 We’d love to hear from you: What grounding tools or rituals are you adding to your Fall Recovery Toolkit this season?
