No need to go crazy trying to come up with a program friendly recipe for the 4th. Enjoy this simple, yet delicious recipe and spend more time enjoying the day!

🎆 Grilled Chicken with Fiber-Rich Veggies 🎆

INGREDIENTS (Serves 1):

🔴 6 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast
🔴 1 cup broccoli florets
🔴 ½ cup sliced zucchini
🔴 ½ cup sliced red bell pepper
🔴 ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
🔴 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
🔴 ½ tsp garlic powder
🔴 ½ tsp smoked paprika
🔴 Salt and pepper to taste
🔴 Optional: squeeze of fresh lemon juice or fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme)

INSTRUCTIONS:

🔵 Prep the Chicken... Pat the chicken breast dry.
🔵 Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper on both sides.
🔵 Let sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.
🔵 Grill the Chicken... Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
🔵 Grill chicken for 5–6 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
🔵 Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
🔵 Sauté the Veggies... While the chicken is grilling, heat 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
🔵 Add broccoli and a pinch of salt.
🔵 Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
🔵 Add zucchini, bell pepper, and mushrooms and continue to sauté for another 4–5 minutes, until tender but crisp.
🔵 Optional: finish with a light squeeze of lemon juice or fresh herbs.
🔵 Assemble & Serve... Slice the grilled chicken.
🔵 Plate with the sautéed vegetables.
🔵 Serve warm and enjoy your simple yet delicious, fiber-rich, patriotic meal!

Sorry, couldn't resist!! 😜 But seriously, protein really is pretty important for all of us. Here are some fun protein facts we hope you'll enjoy...

It’s essential to all life - Protein exists in every one of the trillions of cells in the human body. Without it, no life could exist. Approximately 18-20% of the body is protein.

You couldn’t grow or heal without it - Proteins are essential to the human body, and are responsible for many processes such as growing, healing, forming cell structure, carrying oxygen, protecting against disease, growing hair and nails, allowing eyesight, providing energy and more.

We would swell up without it - Without a protein called Albumin, the entire human body would swell.

Cheesey protein - The cheese with the highest amount of protein is low-sodium parmesan, with 41.6 grams of protein per 100g.

Fishy business - The fish that is highest in protein is Yellowfin Tuna, with 30 grams of protein per 100 grams, followed by anchovies, salmon, halibut and snapper.

Gluten is a protein - Gluten is a protein found in wheat and other grains. When people have an allergic reaction to foods such as gluten, it’s because the structure of the protein itself triggers the reaction.

Human hair is protein - Hair is made up of a protein called keratin, which forms a helical shape. This protein has sulfur bonds, and the more sulfur links it has, the curlier a person’s hair will be.

The chicken or the egg? Scientists concluded that the chicken came before the egg. This is because the protein which makes their eggshells can only be produced by hens.

There’s a pokemon protein - There is a protein called Pikachurin which was named after the Pokemon, Pikachu. There is also a protein called Sonic Hedgehog, named after Sonic the Hedgehog.

CRUNCH WITHOUT THE CARBS...
Jicama Fries – Light, Crispy & Guilt-Free!

🥄 Ingredients (Serves 1–2):

🔵 1 cup jicama, peeled & cut into thin fries
🔵 1 tsp olive oil
🔵 ½ tsp smoked paprika
🔵 ¼ tsp garlic powder
🔵 Sea salt & pepper to taste

🔥 Instructions:

🔵 Preheat air fryer or oven to 400°F.
🔵 Toss jicama fries with oil and seasonings.
🔵 Cook for 20–25 min, flipping halfway until crispy.
🔵 Serve with a low-carb dip or plain with a sprinkle of lime juice!

💡 Bonus Tip: Boil jicama for 10 minutes before air frying for extra tenderness!
