A Georgia high school prank that turned deadly is leading to some powerful Christian displays of faith and forgiveness. As the families involved in the tragedy grapple with the pain of the accident, along with their uncertain futures, they're turning to their hope in Jesus Christ for the solution.

As CBN News reported, North Hall High School teacher and coach Jason Hughes was tragically killed in a prank that went wrong. Now the teen driver of the pickup truck that ran over him is expressing deep regret and vowing to live his life for Christ in a way that honors the man whose life he accidentally took.

The teen said, "I pledge to live out the remainder of my life in a manner that honors the memory of Coach Hughes by exemplifying Christ. He will never be forgotten."

A worried mom from the community reached out to a Navy veteran and Richmond, VA journalist, Jon Burkett from CBS 6, to express her concerns. Her son, Jahrell Horne from Henrico, Virginia, is aboard an aircraft carrier that altered course to support fellow shipmates at sea. Drawing from his Navy experience, the veteran and Journalist Jon offered this prayer for Jahrell and all sailors serving in those waters:

Lord,
Watch over our sailors serving on the waters near Iran.
Protect them, guide their decisions, and give them courage and calm in every moment. Keep them safe in Your care and bring them home to their families in peace.

Amen.

Let's show this mother that we are praying for her son and all the other service members in or near Iran.

An emotional response to this career is 'NORMAL'.
Seek supervision, community, self-care practices.

You can't escape the emotions, but you can respond to what arises with compassion & care.

Take care of yourselves, therapists💛

If it feels heavy, confusing, and draining… it’s probably not yours to carry.

The right path doesn’t steal your peace.
The right people don’t leave you questioning your worth.
The right opportunities don’t make you shrink.

What’s meant for you will feel steady.
Grounded.
Like sitting deep in the saddle while everything around you moves… but you feel calm.

Stop chasing what exhausts you.
Start choosing what settles your spirit.

Peace is the green light.
Clarity is the confirmation.

If you’re choosing alignment over chaos this season, comment PEACE and let’s ride toward what truly fits. 🐎✨
