‼️‼️A FOLLOW UP ON KEVIN🔊‼️‼️

Good morning, I just wanted to share this because a lot of people ask us where Kevin stands with this transplant...

In January when I was sharing the testing link for donors, Kevin had a FLOOD of people test for him 🙌🏾... The doctors said they had never seen a person get so many people to test for them so quickly!! (What a blessing).. People came from everywhere, messaging me saying how great of a person they thought Kevin was and how they really wanted to do this for him...

With that being said, unfortunately some of those people didn't fully qualify due to their own health issues... Whether it's being overweight, having HBP, diabetes and a few other things....
Also, the way the process is (and this is the part I really want to share for clarification) the transplant center doesn't tell Kevin ANYTHING AT ALL until it is surgery time and then he has 24 hrs to report to the hospital for surgery... They don't share if they have a potential donor, they don't share who tested... Nothing! So, in the spirit of being hopeful, Kevin may have a donor sitting there already, but this person could've told Kevin's medical team a specific date they want for surgery,(because the donor decides that) this person could be waiting on leave and time off at their job, it could be a number of things.... The wonderful thing is that Kevin is a PRIORITY ON THR TRANSPLANT LIST!! That's a blessing all in itself because people spend years in kidney failure and aren't on the list, usually due to other health issues (USUALLY)... (I don't want to offend anyone) ..I'm not gonna lie, I often find myself so anxious for that call!! We were told that if Kevin stopped treatment he'll have 2-3 weeks to live ..💔💔😭 and he looked me in my eyes and said "baby stop crying, I'm not gonna stop, I love you and Stori too much to quit"..

But until that prayer is answered, my baby is pushing every day .. doing treatment 5 days a week...

Keep the faith!!! Pray with us and for us!! Please continue to speak life over Kevin ❤️🙏🏾

-Also, for those who inquired about his appointment yesterday, they believe his blood pressure is dropping too low so they adjusted his medicine... Hopefully this does the trick!!

Kevin's been experiencing some 'funky' symptoms lately...
An increase of dizzy spells ..
And pains..

Today he told me he feels like he did when he first went to the hospital. ❤️‍🩹

Tomorrow morning he meets with his doctor..

Please lift Kevin's name up in prayer this evening for a resolution tomorrow 🙏🏾🙌🏾💪🏾 ♥️
I'm praying it's just a switch of a medication 🙏🏾

Posting this because .. why not ?

Every now and then you just have to reflect!

Stori's first school dance was in March... I begged Kevin to stay home because he was at the height of his illness .. feet throbbing and swollen, low energy and dialysis was absolutely draining him... But he showed up anyway!! And Stori got her first ever dance!!

Kevin's now been doing home dialysis for almost a month and Stori gets so much joy from helping him, for her it helps her feel like he's okay ...

Cherish every moment in life because your "normal" can change so quickly...

Update on Kevin! Long post ‼️
Just coming on here to talk about Gods grace and mercy

For those that have been following Kevin's kidney journey, you know that for the last 5 weeks he's been training to start his dialysis at home... He did it Wednesday for the first time with his nurse and I present ... Thursday he did it with him and I.

Friday my mom was coming into town so watch Stori so that we could spend time together for our wedding anniversary ...she came early so that she could sit with him during treatment because you can't be home alone....
I went to work and my phone started going off, it's the ring camera, I see paramedics walking in the house, I immediately call my mom... Paramedics started to ask me about his medications, his kidneys, age etc etc...

At this point he's stable!

But!!! During treatment his blood was too thick and it caused the machine cord to clog/receive an air bubble, he tried to fix it himself but things took a turn, my mom was sleep so he called her name out, once she was awake, she said Kevin was pouring in sweat, soaked and having trouble breathing. She called 911 and then as his breathing got better he began to tell her the emergency steps... She did them... Paramedics came... They wanted to take him to the hospital but his home nurse was able to tell him the issue...

It took everything in me not to throw those students the peace ✌🏾 sign and run out (lol) but Kevin was yelling "Babe stay at work" 🥺🤦🏾‍♀️...

I cried, hit them on video... He seemed okay, they had him walk around before they left....

After work I wanted to just cuddle and stay in the house but Kevin insisted on celebrating our anniversary... ❤️😁

All of these "hiccups" have been absolutely horrifying but God continues to keep Kevin on the other side!!

And the strength Kevin shows is remarkable 💪🏾

Kevin's home machine was delivered yesterday...

By this time next week he could possibly be doing home treatments 💪🏾🙌🏾

This whole thing is heart breaking BUT all steps in a more positive direction is a blessing ❤️

The black thing at the bottom is the filtration system, the top is the actual machine... Hooks in the back are for his bags....

As always, please continue to keep Kevin's name lifted up in prayer 🙏🏾

Another step...
Today we had 47 boxes delivered and placed in our family room ... These boxes are about 2 months of supplies for Kevin's home treatment... They'll be delivering more each month....
You never think life will turn so quickly but it can and does ...
Next week his machine will be delivered and at home dialysis will start... 5 days a week ....

Kevin is really going strong in this and I couldn't be prouder .... 🫶🏾🙌🏾💪🏾..

Update ‼️
Kevin's nurse on his transplant team called him yesterday and said they found something on his liver during his day of hospital testing which is a step you take to be ready for the transplant...

She said she doesn't believe it's anything big but he has to go back to the hospital for testing so that they can get another look...

We ask you all to continue to pray for him during this journey...
I'm asking God to step in and remove anything that'll hinder Kevin from being healed... Remove anything that stops him from receiving a transplant 🙏🏾🫶🏾🙌🏾‼️

Good morning 🌞
Friday Kevin told me that he's feeling better than he has in months!!! This new treatment has made such a huge difference!

Hearing him say that, genuinely made my heart smile ☺️❤️

The machine he's on now functions as two working kidneys ( that's the best way for me to explain it) lol
He does it 5 days a week but it pulls less from his body (especially the heart) so he isn't as fatigued and dizzy as he was just a month ago!! No dizzy spells at all in weeks ‼️‼️🙌🏾🙌🏾
I know God is moving him in the right direction 🙌🏾

I know he still has a long journey ahead of him but WE'RE in this together 🔐

We ask that you continue to keep his name lifted up in prayer 🙏🏾

As you know, I've been sharing the Gofundme set up for Kevin's medical expenses and due to his pay dropping because he's in short term disability...

The last thing Kevin likes to do in this world is ask for help .... But as his wife I want to do whatever I can to alleviate added stress.. I feel like his priority right now should be his treatment and preparing for surgery!

Kevin's birthday is next week and I'm humbly and graciously asking for help to cover his latest treatment bill from dialysis!! Any amount is appreciated!!

I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he said just a new kidney... While I can't do that, I want to do what I can ....

Update ‼️
Yesterday we found out that Kevin's testing from the hospital was all great!!!! That means he's good to go for the transplant!

Now we just have to wait for that miracle call to come and say the donor is available and it's go time!!!!
