Cancer Beatdown

Today..... like most days, I sit here, coffee in hand, looking at my beautiful new granddaughter, tear up, wishing I had the opportunity to share this beautiful creation with so many souls that meant the world to me yet are no longer here on earth to walk this life with me.

Most days, this weighs heavy on me and I drift into a darkness where my grief resides. Just over the last year alone, the number of loved ones lost is unbearable and the pain is unkind!

BUT, today I chose to take a different approach. Today, I decided to post pictures of these beautiful faces... of a few loves I hold dear to my heart and miss terribly. I hope their smiles are contagious to you all this cold Sunday. I hope their faces made your day as they did mine.

I wish you all could have met my Delilah Lee Rose and feel the joy she brings to my life and the light she shines upon this world. There is no one like her and I hope to never spend another day without her!

Today marks one year since I was at work and receive the call I had dreaded for so long, my best friend... brother from another mother.... my homey G funk.... my homez slice, Timmy had finally went home to walk with Jesus. This holiday season and last month you have been in my dreams and constantly crossed my mind. (You're always in my heart!) For me, this has been one of the toughest years. Timmy's passing has been one of the most painful things I have experienced. I couldn't imagine the pain his parents, wife, siblings, etc went and are still going through.

Timmy.... it was my pleasure to share 21 years of my life with you! It was my pleasure to walk the isle as your's and Kacie's maid of honor and share your special day with you as you got married to your soulmate. It was my pleasure to fight your fight and do only what I was capable of with your cancer battle sharing such a life altering and painful life experience with you. It is my pleasure to love you, your children and your family and share them and those memories with you. And it is one of my greatest life blessings to have the pleasure of knowing you and calling you my best friend and brother. Thank you for loving me, for leaving me with a wonderful adopted family I can turn to and share your legacy with. Thank you for teaching me unimaginable strength and courage. Thank you for being my friend and brother and for blessing my life for 21 years. I miss you like crazy and can't wait to hug your neck again in heaven! Happy "wings earned" anniversary! Heaven sure is lucky!

Please keep Kerry in your thoughts and prayers. She is a mother of two precious little twin bows and a wife to Shaun who is also battling cancer. They are having a benefit April 24th. Go out and support this family!

Ovarian cancer accounts for about 3% of cancers among women, but it causes more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system.

Many of you are aware that this nonprofit and cancer beatdown warrior group was built in honor of my best friend who was fighting for his life while struggling with the financial burden of cancer treatment as a husband and young father of two. As many of you know, he was a super hero to many of us, an example for others who struggle and an inspiration for many who not only are fighting for their lives but fight other life battles which causes them to lose focus on God. He lead as a TRUE example of a Christian man by keeping his eyes on Jesus, his focus on God..... Walking with his little hand in the Lord's big hand allowing him to lead the way! You may not know the impact he had on my life and many others but he changed so many by his presence!

Jesus called this amazing man to walk with him in heaven Monday, December 14, 2015 at 12 PM. He will never be forgotten, his memory will live on and we will celebrate his legacy forever!

Please say a prayer for his family and friends as well as donate what you can (every little bit helps) to help his funeral and burial costs. Thank you and God bless!
