Anyone guilty?
Runners have the shortest memory in existence. 🏃♂️😂
Mile 1: "I feel amazing! I love running! This is the best decision ever!"
Mile 6: "Okay, this is hard. Why do I do this to myself?"
Mile 13: "I hate this. I'm never running again. This is torture. I'm done forever."
Post-race: exhausted, limping, swearing it's the last time.
Next day: "There's a half marathon next month. Should I sign up?" The answer is always yes. Runners have selective amnesia. They forget the pain immediately and only remember the pride. That's how they end up doing this over and over.
Non-runners think this is insanity. And it is. But it's also the runner's cycle: suffer, complain, finish, forget, repeat. The pain fades in hours. The accomplishment lasts forever. So yeah, runners will swear they're done, and then register for another race before the soreness even goes away. Every. Single. Time. 😂
