After significant weight loss, excess skin can remain despite diet and exercise. This patient came in seeking improved chest contour and a more defined midsection after losing a large amount of weight.
For his chest, Dr. Prada performed a free ni**le reduction, which allows for removal of excess skin and repositioning of the ni**le-areola complex when tissue laxity is significant. His chest result shown here is 5 months post-op, with improved contour and a flatter, more masculine appearance.
To address the abdomen and lower trunk, he underwent an abdominoplasty without muscle repair, combined with a lower body lift to remove excess skin circumferentially. This portion of his result is shown at 7 months post-op, with improved waist definition and smoother transitions from the abdomen to the lower back.
Massive weight loss patients require individualized surgical planning. The goal is not just skin removal, but restoring proportion, contour, and function while placing incisions as strategically as possible.
Results continue to mature over time as scars soften and tissues settle.
