Did you know that a horse's resting heart rate averages between 30-45 beats per minute? Horses also have significantly larger hearts than we do, producing a stronger electromagnetic field with the capability to influence our own heart rhythms. When we spend time around horses, whether it be grooming, leading, or simply being, our nervous systems actually begin to sync with theirs, lowering our heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

The fight or flight nature of horses predisposes them to beautifully expose our hidden emotions. To lead a 1,200-pound animal, your internal feelings must match your external actions. If you try to give direction while feeling unsure or afraid, a horse usually won't follow. Conversely, if you are present, confident, and gently assertive, they fall into their roles as partners and cherished companions. In this way, horses help us learn how to align our emotional states with our behaviors.

Sometimes, healing starts the moment we close our eyes and just breathe... In a world thatโ€™s constantly 'on,' our herd teaches us the power of turning inward and finding the stillness within.

Horses are non-judgemental in the sense that they don't care about your past, your diagnoses, or what you're wearing. Rather, they care about your energy, your presence, and how you show up to the barn each day.
