It is a rainy morning here in the Adirondacks and my heart is feeling full. I personally have lived a life where I had convinced myself that slowing down was not an option. How would things get done? How would my goals be achieved? This was until I actually learned overtime how to slow down and have grace with myself. To my surprise more things are getting done and with a greater sense of satisfaction. So much so that sitting here on this rainy day all I can feel is comfort and gratitude. Everything seems to be as it should be. No, my to do list in not all checked off and the day has just begun. My goals are still in progress and yet I don’t feel the need to rush. I believe I have fallen into this thing they call contentment.
I chose to share this sensation as this is what we deserve just being human. Life is a blessing and it is hard to watch the chaos of society slowly stripping away that inherited joy from those that deserve to feel at peace, which, let me clarify, is everyone.
So with this I invite you to join me today, in spirit. Welcome moments of stillness and gratitude. If you are working, wrestling with your children, searching for connection, or just running errands, make space for yourself. Slow down and even for a few moments think of how far you have come, what has already been accomplish, and the opportunities that lie ahead of you.
Enjoy the seasons as they start to shift, maybe the sun won’t shine, and the day will feel long. Either way, you will always have yourself and the ability to change, grow and experience love. At the end of the day you will begin to realize that this is enough.
