Due to the impending high temperatures today, tomorrow, and Wednesday Kent County will have 2 cooling centers open during business hours.

The Kent County Library in Chestertown from 9:30am - 6pm
The Kent County Community Center from 8am - 5:30pm

On a picture perfect Kent County day, members of your Kent & Queen Anne's Rescue Squad helped a patient who needed transport via Maryland State Police - Aviation Command.

The Kent & Queen Anne's Rescue Squad was proud to join community partners at Kent County High School for the Prom Promise Mock Accident – Making Safe Choices event.

It included a powerful, real-life simulation with live crash demonstration, DUI arrest scenario, and EMS rescue response, providing students with a vivid look at the consequences of impaired and distracted driving. The goal is to raise awareness and encourage students to make safe, responsible decisions—especially during prom season.

Thanks to all who participated and Maryland State Police - Aviation Command for the fly-in by Trooper 1.

Over the course of “Winter storm fern” (starting early Sunday morning and into Tuesday) KQARS career and volunteer members, staffed the station ready to respond at a moments notice. As of today, personnel have handled a total of 11 dispatched incidents. Both Ambulances were staffed with two personnel, and a support piece ( utility 8 ) was staffed with an officer and additional personnel for support during incidents.
