On January 25th, the KQARS held its annual banquet and installation of officers. Members in attendance received gifts of appreciation for service throughout the year, as well as recognizing their dedication to the department and community. We look forward to entering our 65th Year of service to the community and can not thank the citizens and visitors enough for their generous contributions, to allow us to continue serving.

We would like to thank Chester river seafood for catering, Helen Todd for decorating, the Kent County Commissioners for their overwhelming support, Kent County OES, Sheriff Dennis Hickman for swearing the Board and Officers into office, Chestertown Police Department, Chestertown Volunteer fire company for our continued partnership and the usage of their hall, and the rest of our partner agencies throughout the County.

Yesterday, Multiple jurisdictions came together under the leadership of Queen Anne’s county DES to host the annual Bay Bridge run - “10K Across the Bay”. ATV 8 was stationed at the Route 8 Overpass, with a Crew of 2. It was an early morning start for crews working the event but ensuring the safety of runners is always the top priority! Congratulations to those who participated and finished out the race!
