Over the course of “Winter storm fern” (starting early Sunday morning and into Tuesday) KQARS career and volunteer members, staffed the station ready to respond at a moments notice. As of today, personnel have handled a total of 11 dispatched incidents. Both Ambulances were staffed with two personnel, and a support piece ( utility 8 ) was staffed with an officer and additional personnel for support during incidents.

At last nights general membership meeting, the first order of business per the bylaws is the election of the incoming years officers and board members. The results for 2026 are:

Chief: Jason Lobley
Deputy Chief: John Machen
Captain: Paul Kubik
LT 8: Julissa Wright
LT 81: Bryan Williams

Treasurer: Allan Schauber
Secretary: Kathy Hastings
Member at large: Maurice King
Past Chief: Robert Coleman

We look forward to another successful year, with a few exciting arrivals including the new “Ambulance 8”. We wish our mutual aid partners a safe and successful year, as we continue our mission of providing the best prehospital care.

Today we had the opportunity to connect with students from KCHS and allowed them to ask questions, about the emergency medical field, as well as discuss potential career options for after there highschool careers! It was a fantastic opportunity, one we are looking forward to attending annually!
