Stop comparing yourself to others

It's natural for your 6-12-year-old daughter to compare herself with others. This can create anxiety and feelings of self doubt.

The sun has a purpose to keep our planet warm
Rain has a purpose to give us water

🌿🌸🌿

If the rain wanted to be just like the sun, we would have no water.
If the sun wanted to be just like the rain, we would not be warm.

🌿🌸🌿

Just like the sun and rain every single person on this planet has a purpose or special talent.

-Help your daughter keep a journal of the things she is good at.
-Help her to appreciate her looks by the things you say about yourself.
-Set boundaries and explain to her the benefits of taking care of yourself first.
-Help her make a list of what she likes about herself.

Three ideas to boost your daughter's confidence

Allow my daughter to fail; I was shocked the first time I heard this. Now I wish I had listened to this sooner.

🌿🌸🌿

When we allow our children to fail and make mistakes:
– They learn independently
– They can make corrections without external help
– Develop Problem-solving

🌿🌸🌿

2. Praise Perseverance. Acknowledge the little wins, not just the successes.

– Perseverance teaches you how to handle failures
– Praise the effort, not just the wins
– Perseverance helps you reach goals and keep trying

🌿🌸🌿

3. Embrace Imperfection: No one is perfect. If we embrace our imperfections and acknowledge them in ourselves, we help our children to embrace theirs

-This allows a child to be kind to themselves when they make mistakes
-Imperfection allows a child to grow and appreciate themselves instead of beating themself up for mistakes.
-This allows them to be okay where they are

🌿🌸🌿

I AM Enough

What are you teaching your daughter about her body image?

If you want your daughter to love herself and feel confident in her body pay attention to what you say to yourself.

🌿🌸🌿

Children are like sponges they absorb everything. If you’re not happy with your body image, or you have thoughts like the ones below.

🌿🌸🌿

I’m fat
I’m getting old
My lips are too thin
I’m too short

🌿🌸🌿

Your daughter is going to have those same thoughts.

🌿🌸🌿

Think about the things you say to yourself, that beautiful sponge beside you is absorbing everything you say.

By following your bliss, you encourage your daughter to follow hers.

In other words, what is your passion? What do you love to do? What makes you bounce out of bed in the morning? What is something you do that makes you smile and get excited?

🌻🌻🌻

Is it painting, drawing, writing, dancing, singing, teaching, owning your own business, or helping people?

🌻🌻🌻

When I taught martial arts, I spent many hours with class planning, training instructors, doing the books, marketing, leadership training, bullying seminars, and marketing. Did I love it all? Of course not.

🌻🌻🌻

What made my business worthwhile was to see a child change a belief from I can't to I did that! I impacted 1000's children.

By going after your dreams, you become an inspiration to those around you. What is possible?

s there any better feeling than when you get feedback like this from your amazing clients? This was a testimonial I received recently from a child I worked with in martial arts.

---------------

At the age of 7 my son took classes to deflect his anger and hurt from our divorce. Ms. Evon really worked with him and helped him to focus on his manners and taught him discipline towards his elders, and within himself.

With that experience and structure, as a young adult he went on to become a personal trainer and worked at a gym teaching people fitness programs. He participated in over 15 Savage Race Endurance Obstacle Course Races and took home several top ten medals.

I can't thank MS. Evon enough she gave a 7 year old boy from a broken home the confidence and discipline he needed to excel in life!

Big Aha moments that changed the path of my journey.

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

Most business owners can divide their entrepreneurial journeys into three paths:

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

The Before Path: When they don’t know what they’re doing or where they’re headed

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

The Middle Path: When they β€œkind of” know what they want but there’s still twists and turns up ahead and its still more of a hobby.

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

The After Path: When they have experienced some success and are clearer on their direction. Our paths are always changing. When we experience something for a while it helps us grow taller and the path continually changes.

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

Now, I’ve had some major β€œaha” moments (some would say blunders, lol) in each path that have guided my journey and helped me get where I am today:

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

1- My β€œbefore” moment - The day I started my new job, after closing my martial arts business, I felt lost and questioned what have you done. This job is not my passion.

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

2- My β€œmiddle” moment - My aha moment when I realized I was staying in my comfort zone at the health department and I needed to step through that fear. I went back to school and started training as a life coach. I also became a certified WISDOM coach and did some group coaching with kids.

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

3- My β€œafter” moment - By reaching out to others to improve my business skills I hired other coaches that could help me make my business better.

πŸŒΏπŸƒπŸŒΏ

What’s a big β€œaha” moment that changed your Path?

My 5 favorite Tools To Help Kids Control Emotions

I love finding new tools that help kids deal with their emotions. There are so many tools out there to help with this. So I thought it would be fun to share some of the must-haves I regularly use to help my young clients.

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

1. En-Vision: Using all senses and thinking of a happy time brings a sense of calm to a tense body.

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

2- Deep Breathing changes the brain's chemistry, allowing you to calm the body.

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

3. Use a pinwheel. Some kids have a hard time sitting still. Blowing air on a pinwheel has the same effect as deep breathing. You must take deep breaths and blow air out to make the wheel move. You can also blow bubbles.

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

4. Play a skittles game to help kids understand their emotions. They get to share a memory based on the color of the skittle they choose. This game is not only educational, and you get to eat skittles too!

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

5. Teaching children to squash ANT's. Don't worry I'm not taking about live ants. The ANT I'm talking about is Automatic Negative Thoughts. By paying attention to thoughts children can change their emotions.

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

You don't need a gazillion tools, just the right ones at the right time!

πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜’πŸ˜¦

What tools are you using every day to help your emotions? Leave a comment below.

Unexpected Benefits of Martial Mindset

Sometimes you really do get more than you asked for!

🌻🌻

Most Coaching programs will get you halfway to results but not all the way. They either skim the surface and don't go deep enough, or they're not personalized enough to your unique needs.

Happy 4th πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ πŸ’₯

To all my friends and family.

07/04/2022

How failing my first martial arts stripe test gave me the confidence to succeed.

My instructor sat next to me on the bleachers and said: Your self-defense technique needs work; I can't pass you yet.

πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸŒ³

I felt embarrassed, and my first thought was I wanted to quit. I mean, I was a white belt. How do you fail your first stripe test?

πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸŒ³

My sons both received their yellow stripes and were quite proud of themselves. I was incredibly proud of them also; however, that old feeling returned to haunt me "you can't do this," "you are not good enough."

πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸŒ³

The good news is that I learned a lot from martial arts, especially that first year.
The biggest thing I learned was to be kind to myself, especially my inner child. I was overweight, had never participated in any sports before, antisocial, and had high anxiety.

πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸŒ³

Once I saw that fear was holding me back – not my skills or competence as a human – I committed to passing my subsequent test.

πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸŒ³

Deep down, I was proud of taking martial arts and loved doing something with my boys. But, it was just my nerves and the thoughts I chose to think. I pictured myself getting my yellow belt and catching up with my children, which is what I did.

πŸŒ³πŸƒπŸŒ³

Five years later, I received my 1st Dan Black Belt Vroom, Vroom.
We all have tipping points when a blunder or mistake makes us look within and grow.
What was a significant tipping point for you?

Growing Pains That Made Me a Better Entrepreneur.

πŸƒπŸ‚πŸƒ

Building a new business is a bumpy road! Those early years are filled with potholes and rocks and sticks and other growing pains, like:

πŸƒπŸ‚πŸƒ

Coming up with a focused vision: Getting clear on your mission and idea is one of the hardest things to do when creating something completely new. It's like giving birth to a child and trying to see its shape, form, and color ahead of time. Not easy!

πŸƒπŸ‚πŸƒ

Developing new skills: You're not prepared for everything you'll need to do until you start doing them. Reading, NLP Training, communication, child psychology, beliefs, how the brain works, new parenting skills, developing a signature program to boost kids' confidence, and all the rest is a learning curve. But it's like learning on the job!

πŸƒπŸ‚πŸƒ

Knowing when to let go: As a past business owner, I had a tough time asking for help. There are some things you can do on your own but when you feel stuck – and I mean stuck for a while, and it feels like you're in a rut – find someone who can guide you and or provide assistance.

πŸƒπŸ‚πŸƒ

Work-life balance: Family time is very important to me finding balance is a priority. By writing down my priorities and concentrating on things I can achieve within a given timeframe and remembering to be realistic not perfect!

Does your 6-12-year-old Daughter Use Both Sides of Her Brain to Solve Problems

Our right brain is creative and emotional, and the left side of our brain is intellectual and linear. By using both sides of the brain and integrating them, children can handle emotions using empathy and problem-solving.

🌻🌻

The young mind does not fully develop until children are in their twenties. As a parent, you can help them integrate and understand their mind.

🌻🌻

When a child is emotional like when my son would not get in the car because he wanted to go home. He could not put the concept together that we had to take the car to go home.

🌻🌻

When your daughter's best friend has said mean things to her, she says I never liked her anyway. You can tell by her body language this is not true. In this instance, she is ignoring her genuine emotions.

🌻🌻

-As a parent, when we can meet them on the same level and acknowledge what they are feeling without reacting, we help them integrate the two parts of the brain. Let them know it's okay to have these feelings even if it makes no sense to you.

🌻🌻

-After the child has calmed down and feels safe, you can begin to ask questions to help them use both sides of their brain. By allowing them to figure it out and come up with their own answers, you enable them to feel confident in knowing how to handle their emotions and come up with solutions.

A Tool To help Your Child Handle Emotions That Doesn't Like Meditation

If your child is not interested in learning how to meditate. Pick up a dandelion and have her blow the seeds off the top. This is the same as meditation.

She will be taking a big breath and if you make a game of it how long can you blow on the feathery seeds. After 2 or 3 times she has done some deep breathing and has activated her brain and system to calm down.

As a kid I used to love to blow dandelion seeds all over and watch them fly. Who knew I was calming myself down.

Have You Ever Read a Book That Helped You Solve A Problem

Reading can be very calming and take you out of your emotions.

πŸ“–πŸ“šπŸ“–

As children read stories similar to their Own Story, they discover new ways to handle their emotions. In addition, it makes it easier to understand their feelings when they find out other people have the same feelings.

πŸ“–πŸ“šπŸ“–

-This helps them feel they are not alone.
-The feeling is normal

πŸ“–πŸ“šπŸ“–

Reading also helps kids communicate with others. For example, if they have questions about a character in a story, they will be more open since the story is not about them. This allows the child to feel less vulnerable.

πŸ“–πŸ“šπŸ“–

Think about the stories you've read. What was the name of the last book you picked up that helped you or gave you insight? Then, leave the Title in the comments below.
