Dr. Labadie and Dr. Dover are honored to kick off ASLMS’ virtual global event, 24 Hours of Lasers and Energy-Based Devices in Cutaneous Applications.

Dr. Labadie will lead the opening session: ‘Tightening - Optimizing Aesthetic Outcomes in the Era of GLP-1 Agonists with Lasers & Energy-Based Devices’.
She will be joined by Dr. Dover, our current fellow, Dr. Kathleen Coerdt, and former fellow Dr. Ariel Eber.

Dr. Dover will chair the second hour session: ‘The Business of Lasers and Energy-Based Devices’.
Alongside will be Dr. Labadie and former fellows Dr. Sara Hogan and Dr. Jacqueline Watchmaker.

A few of our young parent providers have recently been sharing lice stories at their kids’ school. Here is what they want you to know:

❄️ Winter isn’t just cold and flu season… it’s also peak head lice season. Hats, hoods, earmuffs and shared spaces at school, make for the perfect travel plan for head lice.

🧐 Signs to watch for
- Intense scalp itching
- Red, irritated scalp from scratching
- Crawling sensation on the scalp
- Tiny lice (they look like sesame seeds) or yellow-brown eggs attached to hair

🧴 Basic treatment combination
- 1% permethrin OTC cream rinse (Nix) is the best one. Treatment usually needs to be repeated in 7 days.
- Fine-tooth lice comb to remove dead lice and nits from wet hair once a day for at least 3 weeks.

✅Additional important steps
- Check anyone who has been in close contact with the child and treat if you see lice or nits.
- Wash sheets, pillowcases, clothes, blankets, hats, stuffed animals & pillows in hot water.
- Dry items on high heat for 20–30 minutes.
- Put ‘unwashables’ in hot dryer for 30 minutes or seal in plastic bags for 2- 3 weeks.

🚨 Still itchy
