Did you know firefighters are more than twice as likely to develop cancer during their lifetime compared to civilians? 🔥 Boston firefighters are no exception. Last weekend our own Dr. Labadie and Dr. Stout volunteered at the Boston Fire Department to screen for skin cancer. 🩺 In just 3 hours, they checked over 100 firefighters! 💪

Shoutout to our firefighters for protecting the city and staying on top of their skin health! 🚒🩺

Meet Olivia: Our newest nurse at the SCP Advanced Dermatology Spa

We are thrilled to welcome Olivia to our team! At the Advanced Dermatology Spa, our highly skilled nurses provide advanced cosmetic treatments including Thermage, Fraxel, laser hair removal, PRP for hair loss, CoolSculpting, as well as skin rejuvenation and tightening procedures.

Olivia is a wonderful addition to our practice. She combines deep clinical knowledge with a true passion for aesthetics and patient care. Her journey began with a degree in Health, Psychology, and Nutrition from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. She then became a licensed aesthetician and gained valuable experience in the medical spa setting, specializing in treatments such as PRP, microneedling, laser hair removal, skin tightening and body contouring. Inspired to deepen her skills even further, Olivia earned her RN degree from Saint Joseph’s College.

On September 18, many of the SkinCare Physicians providers were overjoyed to celebrate Dr. Jeffrey Sobell’s Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Psoriasis Foundation. 🏆👏

Many of you might be familiar with Dr. Sobell’s clinical career, but he also has a decades-long research background.
▪️He has served as principal investigator in 43 clinical trials in psoriasis which have led to 14 FDA-approved systemic therapies, helping millions of patients worldwide since the introduction of biologic agents in the early 2000’s.
▪️Beyond psoriasis, Dr. Sobell’s research in systemic therapies for atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo, bullous pemphigoid, acne, seborrheic dermatitis and alopecia areata has contributed to the development of an additional 10 FDA-approved therapies for these chronic inflammatory conditions.

Our Fellows are board-certified dermatologists who are pursuing this additional year of even more advanced, hands-on, intensive training under the guidance of our expert physicians. They’ll expand on their already extensive experience in dermatology, aesthetics, laser therapies, and oncologic surgery, while caring for patients and contributing to global scholarship through research and publications.

Controversies & Conversations in Cutaneous Laser and Aesthetic Surgery just had its 33rd meeting!

We had an incredible gathering this year, directed by our own Drs. Arndt and Dover and co-directed by Dr. Murad Alam (a former fellow at SkinCare Physicians) and Dr. Anderson, a pioneer in lasers, devices, and dermatologic procedures.

Controversies is the preeminent meeting in the field.
🌍 Over 60 expert faculty joined us from around the world
📍 Registrants represented 9 countries and 26 states
🎤 More than 100 four-minute presentations, leaving plenty of time for open discussions that fueled real dialogue

A very special highlight was having 💜 Dr. Arndt 💚 in person , instead of virtually, for the first time since 2019. His presence made this year’s symposium especially memorable.

Controversies continues to be one of the most unique and educational meetings in our field, and we’re grateful to all attendees, speakers and sponsors!

He will receive the 🏆 Lifetime Achievement Award 🏆 ‘in recognition of his exceptional clinical care and contribution to advancing research and treatment approaches for psoriatic disease.’ 👨‍⚕️

Here is what Dr. Sobell shared: “I am deeply honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Psoriasis Foundation, an organization whose mission has been central to my career and passion for advancing care for those living with psoriasis.
