Last year, our very own Kori Bechtle, secured a $25,000 grant through the Southeast Wyoming Healthcare Coalition. With it, Cheyenne Regional trained more than 300 Laramie County School District 1 and 2 transportation personnel and provided 500 Stop the Bleed kits for district vehicles and buses.

Just last week, that training proved its value in the most important way: an LCSD1 employee used their Stop the Bleed training to save a life and was honored for their heroic act.

Read the story here: https://capcity.news/local-schools/2025/09/09/lcsd1-employee-honored-for-life-saving-act/

This is exactly why this program matters—and why we’re so proud of this success. Stop the Bleed saves lives.

Want to be prepared, too? We offer Stop the Bleed classes to everyone, FREE of charge and supply kits to businesses and public facilities at no cost. Contact: Kori.Bechtle@crmcwy.org or Jennifer.Dykshorn@crmcwy.org or visit cheyenneregional.org/service/trauma

Where you live shapes your health and opportunities. In our community, Southside and Northside neighborhoods face very different realities when it comes to access to care, safety, transportation and economic stability. The numbers reveal deep inequities—higher poverty and uninsured rates, limited access to parks and more safety concerns in Southside compared to Northside.

NOW WHAT:
• Focus on equity in resource allocation—directing attention and funding toward underserved areas like the Southside.
• Expand green space and safe recreational areas to improve community health.
• Improve public transportation options, especially for accessing healthcare, schools, and jobs.
• Strengthen community safety and trust through collaboration between public health and public safety agencies.
• Promote neighborhood-level engagement to ensure community voice drives local improvements.

Community partners: , , Community Action of Laramie County, Inc. , Cheyenne Laramie County Public Health
