If you’ve been diagnosed with endometriosis, you’ve likely heard a "stage" mentioned (Stage 1 through Stage 4). But what does that actually mean for your health?
It’s a common myth that a higher stage means more pain. In reality, the stages are based on the location, amount, depth, and size of the endometrial tissue—not the level of discomfort you feel.

Stage 1 & 2: Usually involve small, shallow implants.

Stage 3 & 4: Often involve deep implants, cysts on the ovaries (endometriomas), or scar tissue (adhesions).

The most important thing to remember? Your pain is valid regardless of your stage.

For years, we’ve used age 45 or 50 as the "magic number" to start and stop colon cancer screenings. But new discussions in the medical community, like this "longevity protocol" highlighted by Self, suggest we should look at more than just the calendar.

Factors like overall health, family history, and personal longevity goals are becoming a bigger part of the decision-making process. The goal isn't just to check a box—it's to ensure the benefits of the procedure outweigh the risks for your specific life stage.

Read more about this personalized approach to screening at the link below. Have questions about your own screening schedule? We're here to help you navigate it! https://www.self.com/story/colonoscopy-longevity-protocol

We’ve all been told that cramps are just part of being a woman. But there is a big difference between manageable discomfort and pain that stops your life.

Endometriosis affects millions, yet it often takes years to get an accurate diagnosis because symptoms are frequently dismissed. If your periods involve:

Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 women in the U.S. are living with a pelvic floor disorder? Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) can feel like a heavy, bulging, or "dropping" sensation, and while it’s incredibly common—especially after childbirth or menopause—it shouldn’t be your "new normal."

The good news? There are so many ways to manage and treat it, from pelvic floor physical therapy and lifestyle changes to minimally invasive procedures. You don't have to just "live with it."

If you track your Basal Body Temperature (BBT), you’re used to seeing two phases: low before ovulation and higher after. But sometimes, a third shift upward appears about 7–10 days after ovulation. This is called a triphasic chart.

Does it mean you’re pregnant? Possibly! It can be a sign of increased progesterone following implantation. However, it’s important to remember that:

✅ Many pregnancy charts stay "biphasic" (two phases).
✅ Many non-pregnancy charts can look triphasic due to hormones or even room temperature.

It’s a promising sign, but the only way to know for sure is a pregnancy test once your period is late!

Have you heard about "Ozempic Babies"? 👶✨

There’s a lot of buzz lately about people unexpectedly falling pregnant while taking GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Wegovy. But is it the medication itself, or something else?

Current research suggests that significant weight loss can restore regular ovulation, and in some cases, these medications may even affect how the body absorbs oral birth control.

If you are on a GLP-1 and planning for the future (or if you’ve had a "surprise" of your own!), we are here to help you navigate a healthy pregnancy.

As Endometriosis Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to leave you with one vital reminder: Pain is not a requirement of womanhood. Endometriosis is a complex, whole-body disease that can affect everything from your energy levels to your digestive health. Because it is so often misunderstood, it takes an average of 7 to 10 years for a woman to receive a correct diagnosis. We are here to help shorten that timeline. If your period pain is keeping you from work, school, or the things you love, it’s time to stop "toughing it out" and start a conversation with a specialist. Mayo Clinic experts explain why sometimes surgery or targeted hormone therapy is the key to getting your life back. Let’s make 2026 the year you find answers.

Did you know that Vitamin D functions more like a hormone than a vitamin in your body? For women, this "sunshine nutrient" is a heavy hitter—it's the key to calcium absorption for strong bones, a vital player in immune resilience, and even a factor in mood regulation. Despite its importance, many women are unknowingly living with a deficiency that can lead to fatigue or joint pain. Whether you’re looking to support a healthy pregnancy or want to protect your bone density as you age, getting your levels checked is a simple but powerful act of self-care. Check out this guide from Healthline to learn the signs of deficiency and how to safely optimize your Vitamin D levels this spring.

It’s the age-old debate: Do women actually need more sleep than men? According to the sleep experts at Harvard Health, the answer is a resounding "Yes." Because women’s brains are often wired for high-level multitasking and emotional processing, they tend to use more of their actual brain throughout the day, requiring a bit more "recharge" time at night. Factor in the hormonal shifts of the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause, and it’s no wonder women report higher rates of insomnia and sleep disruption. If you’ve been feeling guilty for needing that extra 20 minutes (or that Sunday nap), consider this your "doctor-approved" permission slip to prioritize your rest. Sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s a biological necessity for your hormonal health!
