Friday, June 6th, 2025:
10:00 a.m. The Danger of Water, The Overland Trails to Fort Laramie. Join Park Ranger, Jaret Carpenter, to understand the trials and tribulations of the hundreds of thousands of pioneers navigating through the Great Plains to reach Fort Laramie and resupply for their final destinations.
12:30 p.m. As the Smoke Clears, an overview of the Springfield Rifle from 1847-1873. Please join park rangers for an overview of the Springfield Rifle from 1847-1873 with a black powder live fire demonstration following.
2:00 p.m. Circle of Fire, The War on the High Plains. Join Park Ranger Robert Cuevas as we go over the times Fort Laramie was in the thick of the fight. Three times soldiers from Fort Laramie left the fort and went directly into battles with wildly different results.
2:30 p.m. As the Smoke Clears, an overview of the Springfield Rifle from 1847-1873. Please join park rangers for an overview of the Springfield Rifle from 1847-1873 with a black powder live fire demonstration.
Saturday, June 7th ,2025:
10:00 a.m. Fort Laramie and the Reynolds Campaign on Powder River, 1876. Join Park Ranger, Jaeger Held, to learn about the Reynolds Campaign in the Powder River Country in 1876 and how Fort Laramie was an intrinsic part in supporting the army.
12:30 p.m. 12:30 p.m. The Wagon that Shoots Twice, an overview of the Model 1841 Mountain Howitzer. Please join rangers for a presentation on artillery at Fort Laramie followed by a black powder live firing demonstration.
