WELCOME TO SUMMER! I hope that you are all enjoying the summer weather with the rain making everything green! I am in the clinic 3 days next week as I cover for our other providers taking vacation. What does that mean for you? This is a perfect time to get in and get care established, get those sports physicals done, make that appointment your significant other has been bugging you about, or just get back on track with your health goals. I just have to say WOW! It has been a while since I have posted because it has just been so busy! I have been blown away by the response and need for home visits, dementia care, and geriatric care in pur community. But I have met some absolutely incredible patients and families that have left me humble and in awe. Cheyenne is an amazing place full of diverse backgrounds. I am a proud born and raised native for 40 years and am not going anywhere!

I am still accepting new patients in the clinic, at home, and at assisted living facilities! Remember that you have a choice!

Get you know your provider part 5:
Why medicine? I had some fantastic care for a serious medical condition while on active duty. I met an amazing nurse practitioner that was so knowledgeable and kind hearted that she became my idol. After starting at a long term care facility, I met some incredible doctors that had more faith in me than I did in myself. They helped propel me to where I am today.

I have only worked 3 places in my entire nursing career. I start at a long term care facility as an RN, this job led me to DNP school and eventually a job at the regional medical center in an outpatient clinic from 2015-2024. I started my new position in August 2024. I am having a blast developing my practice style!

I have 3 children: Raymond, Eric, and Lucy. They are involved in hockey, shooting sports, Boy Scouts, and the boys both play instruments at school. They definitely keep me busy. I am also engaged to a wonderful man that I met while a member of the Navy Shooting team!

I joined the Navy in 2005 and transferred to the Navy Reserve in 2007. I am a Senior Chief Petty Officer Machinist Mate. I have serviced on the USS Kearsarge (LHD3), the Navy War College, NRC Cheyenne, and Submarine Group 9 Force Protection Det Kitsap.

Get to know your provider part 1:
I was born and raised in Cheyenne and graduated from East High School in 2003. After a short stent in the Navy, I returned to Cheyenne to attend nursing school and ultimately nurse practitioner school. It was really fun early in my career to take care of patients that worked with my grandpa or were my dad’s teachers. It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase small town medicine.

Today was a huge day that has been in the making for 9 years. I sat the Gerontological Specialist - Certified (GS-C) boards through the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA). I now hold one of the only active certifications in the State of Wyoming. I have to thank my mentors for their time and energy to make this a reality! I have worked with some great geriatric providers but Dr Cara Johnson and Dr Joe Dobson have been amazing over the last nearly 10 years.

The new business cards are in! I will be seeing patients on Monday afternoons in the clinic as well as at home and assisted living throughout the week. If Monday’s do not work, still call us as we have other providers and I will work to get you taken care of!

I practice primary care for all ages & specialize in home visits, geriatric, dementia, and hospice care. I have been in practice as a Nurse Practitioner since 2015 and graduated from the University of Wyoming. I look forward to caring for your family!
