Terry Ranch Road Fire
Cheyenne, WY – On December 17th, 2025, at 4:25 PM, dispatch started receiving calls about a grass fire around mile marker four on I-25.
With strong west winds, the fire spread rapidly, threatening homes in the Wi******er Hills Subdivision. An evacuation order was issued. Firefighters from across the county worked together to contain the blaze as law enforcement went door to door notifying residents. A brief rain shower aided firefighters in helping slow the fire. At around 6:30 PM, the fire was contained. People were able to return to their homes at around 8:30 PM. Fire personnel stayed in the area overnight, extinguishing hot spots that popped up.
This fire burned 565 acres. A greenhouse was the only structure reported lost. The fire burned right up to the yards of the Wi******er Hills homes on the west side of the subdivision. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
We want to thank all the people and agencies who stepped up to help with this situation. It was an incredible example of teamwork that should make us all proud to be citizens of Laramie County.
