Persevered and turned my “Pain into Passion.”

After experiencing the loss of two loved ones in 2016, one to incarceration and one to death, Mentally, my mind traveled to a place where it had never been before. This place was terrifying. I did not know how or if I would be able to return from this place. However, because of God’s grace and mercy, I returned. Over the years, I learned that I experienced the distinct five stages of grief, which included: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance.

During this time, I discovered a lot about myself as well as the people whom I thought I could depend on during this challenging time in my life. This experience is not something that I could have ever imagined would happen to me or those who were affected by this tragedy. The pain I experienced was unbearable. I did not want to continue with life because of the emotional pain that I was experiencing. I felt like I was no longer in control of my life. Being the strong individual that I am, I knew that I had to take back control of my life, and that is what I did. For this reason, I decided to turn my “Pain into Passion” by helping others to overcome emotional pain they are suffering from due to the loss of a loved one. Join me as I bring awareness to mental illness. After experiencing the tragedy in 2016, I realized how important it is to seek help and to not be ashamed of what I experienced. Mental illness is real and only the strong will survive! I am a witness.
