Several months ago I became a SeekHer Scholar. It was open to licensed health practitioners, therapists, psychologists, and social workers, the SeekHer Scholars program offers leadership training, continuing education & mentorship to care providers as they grow their brands to serve women and underrepresented groups within their communities. 🖋️Here I go again… thanking God for this gift! He has blessed me to not only be an subject matter expert in grief and to share with others my experiences.

⭐️He has allowed me further my gift with my OES Grand Chapter, Queen Beatrice Grand Chapter-State of Illinois and now I am taking my gift to the State of Maryland to share with Amulet Chapter No.85-OES, PHA about Mental Health.

💚May is Mental Health Awareness Month💚

A few statistics:

✅22.8 % of adults experienced mental Illness in 2021.

✅1 in 20 US adults experience a serious mental illness each year

✅Suicide is the 2️⃣nd leading cause of death among people 10-14

It is okay to ask for help and to seek counseling….

Oh Lord, I thank you🙌🏾. You have been with me through some of the darkest days of my life. You held my hand and you walked with me every step of the way. You sent family, friends, colleagues and church members to help me when I couldn’t help myself!

You sent angels to me to help with my daughter because grief had begun to consume me. I can remember you sent an angel to help me write thank you cards because-I could not do it.

I am honored to do this work because you helped me triumph over grief🙌🏾🙏🏽

Grief can be a lot to deal with and sometimes we don’t know what to do. When we find ourselves in this position, we have to Bloom Where We Are Planted. We are planted to help someone else in their grief journey and we may just be the person someone needed to hear from!
